General Hospital spoilers say that a lot of fans can’t help but ask this same question: who should take over the mob from Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)?

A lot of people have noticed the same thing: Sonny is getting to the point in his life where he would be better off overseeing his empire from the sidelines.

That’s why it’s been suggested that he can retire and have his heir run the bob while he gives advice. But here’s the thing: who should that heir be?

Clearly, General Hospital fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media.

Some even commented with, “I’d like to see Johnny Z get out of jail and take over Sonny’s business with some extra drama thrown in via a possible involvement between the last Zacchara standing and Kristina (who discovers she thought she’d have a shot at being next in line to take over – delulu as it may be).”

Another critic wrote, “The show should just have Sonny retire and hand things over to Selena Wu who can be a once in awhile character on the show when needed. There is zero need for the mob to be a major part of the show anymore.”

And then there was this comment as well: “Right now, Sonny should just keep it. Fans threw a hissy fit the last time he was away from the mob during the Nixon Falls story and I don’t think anyone wants to see most of his current kids have it.”

“Michael has a nice role and while he has dark moments, isn’t mob material. Kristina is way too unhinged. Gio is too idealistic right now to go down that path. The rest of his kids are too young.”
