GH Spoilers: Steve Burton Opens Up About Tristan Rogers' Brave Battle With Cancer

General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Steve Burton, who plays Jason Morgan on the ABC soap, recently opened up about Tristan Rogers’ (Robert Scorpio) brave battle with cancer.

The two soap icons recently reunited on GH after Rogers’ cancer news; and Steve opened up about working with him as the beloved legend battles cancer.

Jason Took Sasha And Baby Daisy To Robert’s House In France

Jason assisted in ensuring the safety of Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) and baby Daisy Gilmore (Evelyn and Brenden Beimford) by helping them escape Port Charles, after Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) gaslighted Sasha.

Upon arriving at their destination, Robert greeted his daughter and granddaughter with warm embraces, although since Emma Samms didn’t return to GH Holly Sutton wasn’t shown.

Burton shared his experiences of collaborating with Rogers during those scenes while Rogers had just announced he is battling cancer.

The actor discussed this with his co-star, Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli), on their podcast, That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford. Shortly before that, Tristan had also joined John J. York (Mac Scorpio) who is in remission from cancer on a zoom meeting with fans, which is where the announcement was made.

Tristan Is Going Through The Most Brutal Battle Of His Life But Smiled In That Scene

“Tristan is clearly facing a challenge at the moment- I mean, he’s impressive for showing up.. you know what I mean?” Burton remarked.

“It’s a significant effort, physically and mentally, he’s in a good place- you know what I mean, he’s doing well. He enjoys it, he loves being on set; it was really great to be part of those scenes.”

Bradford noted that witnessing the “happiness” on Roberts’ face when he opened the door to find Sasha and Daisy was “wonderful.”

It was also a bit unusual, as Bradford mentioned, because Robert usually displays a more grumpy demeanor than one of joy.

Robert Scorpio’s Fictitious Cancer Certainly Became Real To His Portrayer

Fans who watched some of the GH spinoffs back in the day may remember that Robert Scorpio had colon cancer and beat it.

Although Tristan hasn’t revealed what kind he has, no doubt he recalls that arc. The cast of General Hospital expressed their affection for Rogers as he faces this health challenge.

Burton felt fortunate to have the opportunity to collaborate with the legend once more, even if just for a brief period. “It was truly amazing, man. It was great to spend that day with him,” the actor stated-new episodes of That’s Awesome are released on Wednesdays, available wherever you listen to podcasts.
