Ryan Paevey revealed he was leaving General Hospital in 2018 and gave another update in 2024. Recently, the actor shared that he has a new project coming up; fans are expressing their excitement about this news, especially after he made an appearance at a fan event.

 Paevey joined the General Hospital cast in 2013 as Nathan West, marking his first regular role on a show.

Over time, he became well-known for his roles in various Hallmark Channel films, such as Christmas at the Plaza and Coyote Creek Christmas. However, in 2018, Paevey shocked soap fans by announcing his choice to exit the soap.

Ryan Left Acting For A While, Sharing His Mother Was Ill

In 2024, the actor took a significant step by announcing his departure from acting; he stated in an interview with Heavy, “As I’ve mentioned before, I am stepping back from acting”. ” This is something I’ve felt I needed to do for some time, and it has proven to be essential in recent weeks.”

At that moment, he revealed that his mother had been diagnosed with lung cancer,  expressing gratitude to both General Hospital and the Hallmark Channel, emphasizing the importance of being there for her.

Since then, he has launched Fortunate Wanderer, a website for custom jewelry sales. Recently, Paevey participated in a fan event in Georgia alongside Chad Michael Murray; after returning home, he posted a video for his fans on Instagram.

Ryan Hinted Something Big In The Works-Fans Speculated Where

At that moment, after expressing gratitude to fans, Paevey hinted, “I have some news to share with you all soon. I have several projects in the works-there are many exciting things coming up. So, stay tuned, and yes. I hope to see you all again-I’ll share some updates as soon as I can.”

While Paevey didn’t provide details about what’s happening, some fans believed he might be going back to some familiar places. This could indicate a return to General Hospital or a new project with Hallmark Channel.

Return To The ABC Soap Confirmed

As fans of General Hospital are aware, Nathan is deceased on the show, having died during recovery after being shot. However, in soap operas, characters can return from various situations.

Additionally, a comeback could be timely for Nathan, especially since his sister Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) has also recently come back from the dead. On the flip side, fans will need to watch General Hospital to find out what unfolds next.

It was recently announced that Ryan is making a return to the ABC soap and has begun filming; however, it hasn’t been revealed whether he will portray Nathan or a different character.
