‘GH’ Spoilers: Nathan’s Custody Move Shocks Everyone — Will Spinelli Be Forced Out

General Hospital spoilers gossip Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) is back — or so we think — and he has just met his son, James West (Gary James Fuller), for the first time.

WIth Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) in a coma, her family will have to rally around Nathan and James during this time to make sure they get off on the right foot and to see to it that James doesn’t suffer any further unnecessary trauma.

This situation certainly isn’t trauma-free, especially for the people who may be displaced because of Nathan’s arrival — namely, Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson).

A Major Decision Looms

Spoilers for this week note Nathan is going to announce some kind of declaration this week. Will he resolve to take over for Maxie and be the father he was supposed to be all of this time? How can anyone say no to that?

Sure, Spinelli isn’t legally James’ father, but he’s the only father the kid had ever known. We guarantee that Mac Scorpio (John J. York) and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wanger) have been helping out since Maxie fell ill, but Spinelli has still been holding down the fort at home. Now, it’s quite possible that Nathan may feel the need to take over that role.

Spinelli Gets the Boot?

After all this time, Spinelli is eager for his other half to wake up and say yes. His intention to propose came later than most GH fans would’ve liked, but better late than never, right?

Now, he may never get the chance. Obviously, the first thing anyone is going to tell Maxie when she wakes up is that Nathan is alive. Also, we know we’ll be waiting months for that because Storms has confirmed she won’t be back on set until next year! Say it ain’t so!

In the meantime, we expect to see a battle take shape between Spinelli and Nathan. Sure, that’s hard to imagine given Spinelli’s gentle nature, but Nathan was never a hard guy to deal with. Surely, he’s going to be reasonable, right? Maybe not.

Rumor has it Nathan may be ready to check out of the hospital soon and into Maxie’s place with James and Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke). Where will that leave Spinelli — back on Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) sofa?

Will the Family Stand Idly By?

Mac and Felicia are certain to feel like they’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. Moreover, poor James may feel bad for any desire he has to get to know his father or live with him and make up for lost time.

He has already lost his mother though, at least for the time being, and losing his father twice-over would be an unbearable pain. But also, he may not want to feel like he is losing Spinelli — the only father figure he has had.

Is it possible Spinelli and Nathan end up shacking up together while waiting for Maxie to come to? Awkward much? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
