GH Spoilers: Most Underused Character of 2025

General Hospital spoilers tease that Port Charles is bursting at the seams with people coming and going all the time.

So it’s easy to see how some characters might fade into the background temporarily while other stories take precedence. But there is one character who rarely gets the spotlight while others come and go. That’s right, we are taking about Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst).

2025 Started Out Promising For Elizabeth Webber

At the beginning of 2025, Elizabeth was involved in a medical mystery. Someone was giving terminal patients digitalis, thus ending their suffering.

Elizabeth was the prime suspect at first, just because of her role as Head Nurse at General Hospital. And she was on duty when both Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) died.

Neither of them was terminal, so Liz and Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) began to investigate. They found much more than they bargained for. But learning the truth put Liz in grave danger.

Cyrus Renault Confronted Elizabeth Webber

The true killer was soon revealed to be Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). But Cyrus knew that Elizabeth was on to him, so he confronted her in her home.

In some of the most chilling scenes of the year, Cyrus confessed all the murders to Elizabeth.

He was going to kill her as well, but she was saved just in time by Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson). Soon after, Lucky proposed to Liz, but she declined because she knew Lucky would never consider Port Charles his home. Shortly after, Lucky left town for good.

Elizabeth Webber Has Become A Talk To

Ever since then, Elizabeth appears mostly to support other character in their story. She invited Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) to stay with her after Willow broke up with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).

While Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) is madly in love with Elizabeth, she has made it clear they will only ever be friends.

Elizabeth should be driving story, not reacting to it. Hopefully the show will fix this in 2026. It’s way past time Elizabeth gets a brand new love interest of her own.
