GH Spoilers: Michael’s Alibi Is Protecting More Than Himself – He Knows Who Shot Drew?

General Hospital spoilers assert Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) has been hard pressed to keep his alibi intact for the night that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was shot.

Michael was headed to Drew’s place that night to confront him about his reunion with Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen). Alleging he got there and decided against it, he says he left — a claim Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) can’t corroborate.

With so much focus on Michael’s personal animosity toward Drew, and his desire to see Willow locked up, it’s easy to lose sight of what may have actually happened here.

Is it possible that Michael actually got to Drew’s in time to see whoever pulled the trigger and watch them scamper off? Could he have decided that the shooter deserves more protection than Uncle Drew does?

That’s One Flimsy Alibi

Michael knows his alibi isn’t all that great. Claiming he was with an escort that night is far from typical behavior for him, but it does shed some light on an important detail.

If Michael was the shooter and had been planning this attempted murder, he probably would’ve had a better cover story lined up.

Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) continues to be just what Michael needs to keep the police from asking too many questions about what happened that night — and what his potential involvement in it may be.

Is Michael leaving out the part where he saw who shot Drew and watched them run away from the crime scene?

Michael Wouldn’t Go Out on This Limb for Just Anyone

There are few people who Michael would take on this kind of liability for. He could go to prison for this. Giving a false statement to the police is the tip of the iceberg if he’s covering for an attempted murderer in the process.

While it’s possible that the shooter was Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), that’s not a likely option. Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) isn’t a possibility at all since he was in Croatia at the time. Regardless, Sonny and Jason have never needed Michael to cover for them.

So who might? Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) and Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) are viable options that Michael may feel inclined to protect.

Fans have theorized that it would make sense that Emily ‘Scout’ Cain’s (Cosette Abinante) brothers would seek revenge on Drew for ripping her out of their lives.

Willow Could Be Guiltier Than She Realizes

While Willow plays a pretty convincing role that she didn’t shoot Drew, Michael could have witnessed a very different story. After all, remember that Willow told Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) she was only getting back together with Drew because he could help her get her kids back.

She didn’t really want to reunite with the guy who slept with her mother. Her walk in the rain that night made her look slightly crazier than usual, too. Could Willow have suffered some kind of mental break and shot Drew in the process?

It certainly wouldn’t be out of character for the women in her family — recall Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), and Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) have all grappled with their mental stability and violent tendencies over the years.

Might Michael have watched Willow shoot Drew and run back to work, truly unaware of what she had done? Stranger things have happened in Port Charles. If he is protecting Willow, why would he now be trying to pin this on her?
