General Hospital soilers reveal Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) is trying to make the best of a bad situation. While everyone is thrilled he is not dead, it seems he never knew any different.
Somehow, seven years of his life are just missing for him, and he can’t seem to figure out where they went. The only person in his life that even comes close to understanding is Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening).
It looks like these two old friends are going to get cozy with each other out of shared misery and knowing how it feels to be the only person in the room who isn’t up to speed. But what could their impending closeness end up costing them?
They’re Not the Same
Lulu might know what it feels like to wake up after four years in a coma and not have any idea how much has changed all around her, but she doesn’t know what it feels like to not know where those four years went.
She may not have any recollection of those four years, but she knows what happened and how she lost them because everyone else was able to fill in the gaps for her.
Moreover, while she can’t exactly make peace with what happened to her and that she’ll never get that time back with her loved ones, she still knows she was okay during that time and being cared for. Nathan doesn’t have any of those securities.
No one can tell him where he’s been for the last seven years. They all thought he was six feet under. How is he supposed to make sense of this for himself or anyone else?
GH Spoilers Say Some Fans and Friends Alike are Suspicious
While some fans are feeling bad for Nathan and see him struggling, others are claiming he’s not the real deal, especially after that strange comment that he hadn’t met Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) yet. Is it possible that this is Nathan’s whole goal?
If he is a plant, maybe he’s thinking getting under Lulu’s skin and making her feel supported and understood by someone else who has gone through it is the way to her heart? What does he need her heart for? Why, to break Maxie’s, why else?
Remember, we’re talking about an imposter here, not the real Nathan. That being said, if it is the real Nathan and he had no memory of the last seven years, then to him, he should feel like no time has passed, right?
It’s going to be hard to convince fans he just gave up on Maxie out of the blue when he’s still so in love with her — let alone that he opted for her best friend instead!
What About Maxie?
Kirsten Storms isn’t supposed to return to Port Chuck until next year, and that means we’re going to hear about her off-screen in a coma in a Boston facility for the foreseeable future.
The holiday season ahead gives Nathan plenty of time to find himself feeling supported by Lulu in his wife’s absence. Likewise, Lulu isn’t getting any closer to rekindling things with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zampronga).
In fact, it’s going in the other direction. So if Lulu and Nathan hook up, where does that leave Maxie when she wakes — still married to the love of her life who has fallen for her bestie?
Ouch! Is there any world in which Lulu and Nathan become fast friends and keep it strictly that? Let us know what you think, and stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers.
