GH Spoilers: A Week Without Ned Doesn’t Do The Heart Attack Storyline Any Justice

General Hospital Spoilers: A Week Without Ned Doesn't Do the Heart Attack Storyline Any JusticeGeneral Hospital spoilers suggest Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) fell to the ground outside Bobbie’s while having a heart attack — and that was over a full week ago.

Since then, we’ve heard almost nothing about it, nor have we seen Ned, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), or Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot). When Ned clutched his chest and fell, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) bore witness to it and laughed at him as he hobbled away with his cane.

Gio stepped in just in time alongside Britt Westbourne (KellyThiebaud) to save Ned’s life — and Olivia couldn’t have been more grateful. But where is she now? How is Ned doing? Why is all of this happening off-screen?

Olivia and Tracy’s Roles Were a Huge Miss Here

The fans feared the worst when watching Ned reach for his heart and fall to the ground. As Britt warned this kind of “widowmaker” heart attack could be fatal, we held our breath waiting for Dr. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) to confirm it.

Ned needed immediate bypass surgery to have any shot at getting through this. We were left hanging without so much as a scene where Olivia stepped in to see him before they wheeled him off to surgery.

We expected that Tracy would have been called on-screen even if Elliot couldn’t return from vacation to be visible.  Regardless, it was poor timing to give Ned a heart attack when his mother wasn’t in town. That would’ve been a killer moment for the newest family matriarch to shine.

GH Spoilers Report Ned is Doing Well

Brook Lynn relayed this week that her dad is doing well. That’s the first we’re hearing of it, and it just feels off. Just to recap, this heart attack scenario began on November 10th! As it played out two weeks back, he was going to need surgery.

Last week, we saw zero new details on Ned. We were hoping the writers would give us a better update this week, given that we only had three episodes because of Thanksgiving preemptions. Nope. Just a few words from Brook Lynn to say he’s recovering.

That was a rather dramatic scene between Drew and Ned, and at the hospital afterward where Giovanni ‘Gio’ Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) grew concerned about his grandpa.

He could have rallied with Olivia, Brook Lynn, and the rest of the family. This could’ve been a great way to show the dynamic with Gio was changing.

November Sweeps is Overwhelming?

Can the writers just not keep up? Are they forgetting their own storylines or struggling to weave one into another? Maybe so, but this one seemed so simple.

We’re eager to see what happens when Ned wakes up, but some fans are worried that since there has been little to no focus on what happened since Ned’s surgery, that it means the real storyline here will be beefed up after he comes to. Please, no more Eddie Maine (Wally Kurth).

No more patients in comas. No more surprise deaths. November sweeps went out with a bang in many ways, but this wasn’t one of them. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers as we cross out fingers for an update on Ned next week!
