GH Kirsten Storms’ Acting Hiatus May Keep Her Off-Screen Until 2026

General Hospital (GH) spoilers show that Kirsten Storms (Maxi Jones) has dropped a bombshell on her fans from the ABC soap, General Hospital. Storms’ role has been temporarily recast with Nicole Paggi, who filled in for Storms in 2023.

Today she made the major announcement that she’s picking up stakes and moving from LA to Nashville, aka Music City.

Kirsten Storms Moving to Tennessee

Storms posted to Instagram Monday night, letting her followers in on her major move. Storms has starred on GH for 20 years.

Storms captioned the post: “I’m very excited to be making Tennessee my home!” In the vid Storms talks about part of her wanting to stay at GH while part of her wanted to move. She said that she had a conversation with executive producer Frank Valentini in which she outlined the reasons she wanted to move as well as “my desire to not leave the show.”

Maxie’s Portrayer Moves to Tennessee

Storms explained that many jobs would have terminated her contract “but GH did not do that, which was kind of amazing.”

The beautiful and talented actress added that she needed time off from filming to get her house in order and noted that she doesn’t expect to return to the airwaves this year.

She said “The week before last week, I had my final taping day for the year” and the earliest she could return to the show would be November or December.

Who is Playing Maxie?

For the coming months Storms will be living her best life while Paggi covers for her. Two DOOL alums, Jen Lilley (Theresa) and Molly Burnett (Melanie) have also filled in as Maxie.

This is a spectacular time to be Maxie, as she is trying to play peacekeeper for her friends BLQ (Amanda Setton) and Lulu Spencer (Alexis Havins).

Seriously though, the way these two have been trading punches, we’re surprised they still have all of their teeth. Maxie also has a big financial problem at Deception which she won’t be able to handle on her own.

What Happens Next Week in Port Charles, New York?

Paggi has been excellent thus far and we don’t expect that to change. So, grab the popcorn and the remote as Maxie brings the fun and entertainment this summer.
