GH Fans Remember Their Childhood Hero Tristan Rogers

It’s been a very sad week for the General Hospital community. That’s because of the news that actor Tristan Rogers had passed away at the age of 79.

Tristan, who played Robert Scorpio on the hit ABC soap, died of lung cancer. Many fans had been wondering why they haven’t Scorpio on the small screen in such a long time, but that’s because he was quietly dealing with his cancer battle on his own.

Of course, it didn’t take very long for General Hospital fans to flood social media with tributes and condolences for the actor. Many of them even called him their ‘hero.’

It goes without saying that fans certainly did have a lot to say about the unfortunate news of Tristan’s passing on social media.

Some even commented with, “Robert Scorpio was a part of my childhood. I’m so sorry for his family’s loss. Glad he is able to rest and not in pain, but still will miss him.”

Another fan of the show wrote, “Unbelievably sad to see another formative soap legend pass.”

“But through their longevity and consistency playing the same character, whether it’s Tristan or Drake Hogestyn or Leslie Charleson or Jacklyn Zeman or Bill Hayes, etc., these actors have a uniquely deep and affecting legacy. I hope his family is very proud of what he achieved.”

And then there was this comment as well: “As much as I love the complicated and unpredictable characters, it was always comforting to see Roberto on the scene because you knew he was going to get to the truth and and stop the bad guys.”

“He didn’t blackmail, betray or manipulate people for his own self interest. He was like Captain American and Hercule Poirot all in one.”
