‘GG’ Marian Derrico Thanks Fans As She Undergoes Holistic Cancer Treatment

GG, aka Marian Derrico, is the grandmother on Doubling Down with the Derricos, and TLC fans know that she’s been unwell ever since the show premiered. However, she’s been fighting for years with standard treatment, and now she has turned to holistic treatment. This weekend, she took to social media to thank fans for their support.

Very Unwell, But Holding On

Deon Derrico’s mom quickly found fans who love her because she was always there for her 14 grandchildren. They knew she had cancer, but many folks assumed she’d gotten on top of it. However, that’s not the case. In fact, she’s been fighting it off since 2014.

On the show, fans see a wise woman, a devoted mom, and a charming grandma. And yet, behind the scenes, she struggled every single day with her treatments. You might recall that in a recent season of the show, she wanted to stop her chemotherapy. Well, it seems she’s done that now.

Thanking Fans For Support & More

.On Saturday, a reel went up on the older woman’s Instagram, and she spoke about how she’s still fighting. It showed her in a medical situation and she recorded from her bed. She wanted to let her followers know that she’s aware of their many “prayers and donations.” Plus, she promised to speak to them again.

At the time, she was getting a blood transfusion. Recently, when fans discovered that GG was very unwell, they asked Karen Derrico to start a GoFundMe, which she did. In it, Karen explained:

[Marian] does have health insurance, but unfortunately health insurance doesn’t cover holistics medicine or care which is very expensive…the seemingly endless need for chemo and other modern day medicines that has been exhausted… has [left] GG, feeling somewhat defeated.

Fans React To The Video

Marian Derrico is loved by thousands of fans, so the responses to the video attracted many comments. One fan wrote, “Hey Gigi, good to see you with all you’ve been through. You still look beautiful….blessings upon blessings.”

Many of GG’s fans also dropped comments of support on the GoFundMe. So far, $10K was raised from over 225 donors. A top donor dropped $500 for treatment. It seems that many people want to help because the costs are high for her treatment and Deon Derrico has to fund a very large family.
