‘Eastenders’ Spoilers Weekly Update: Jimmy Beale’s Christening, Phil And Julie Look For Care Homes, New Year’s Day Flashforward Episode

EastEnders spoilers and updates for the week of December 29 tease Jimmy Beale’s (uncredited infant) christening, while Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Julie Bates (Karen Henthorn) look for care homes.

Plus, on New Year’s Day there is a special flashforward episode featuring Max Branning (Jake Wood) and the Branning clan in 2027.

Jimmy’s Christening, Lauren’s Change Of Heart

Things take a turn for the worse for a family entangled in the shocking events of Christmas Day.

The aftermath of the holiday continues to cast a shadow over everyone, as the Beale-Branning clan tries to maintain a brave front for the sake of Lauren and Peter Beale (Jacqueline Jossa, Dayle Hudson) during Jimmy’s christening.

There’s a significant problem – Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Max have yet to confront each other.

This leads the couple to decide to withdraw his invitation to prevent any additional drama at the church.

However, when he gifts his grandson a heartfelt present and shows visible distress at the thought of missing the occasion, Lauren reconsiders and invites him to join.

Cindy And Max Clash Danger, Harry Breaks Gina’s Heart

Cindy is outraged and declares she won’t attend if he is there, but to her relief, he is soon disinvited again after another shocking revelation from Jack Branning (Scott Maslen). Max chooses to disregard Lauren’s caution and shows up at the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) is thrilled to see Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) back home, but he breaks her heart by putting their relationship on hold.

Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) has also returned to the area, much to the joy of Davinder “Nugget” Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury), Priya (Sophie Khan Levy), and Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James). It soon becomes evident that they are all oblivious to Harry’s plans for revenge.

As Expected, Max And Cindy Clash

For the family entangled in the Christmas Day turmoil, additional secrets begin to surface. A local decides to step in and offer assistance, but this decision backfires, leading to further complications.

At the church, Max and Cindy create a significant disturbance in front of everyone, ruining the festive atmosphere.

Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) attempts to calm his father down, but he prefers to drown his sorrows at Harry’s Barn.

There, he encounters another local who tries to provide some advice, but Max retorts angrily, escalating the situation.

Nicola Gives Max A Truth Bomb, Harry And Ravi Clash

Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) has been observing from a distance and shares some harsh truths about his actions. With a heavy heart, a regretful Max wanders off into the night, seeking to make amends.

Meanwhile, Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) is thrilled to reunite with Harry and urges him to move on from Ravi as he outlines his revenge scheme.

However, when Barney declines to return to No. 1 after staying with Zack Hudson (James Farrar), Harry loses his temper and decides to confront Ravi.

Max Asks Oscar’s Help, Phil And Julie Look For Care Homes For Nigel

As the community gets ready to hear the iconic chimes of Big Ben welcoming 2026, Max turns to Oscar for assistance in organizing a clandestine meeting at The Vic with Lauren.

She’s livid with her father for his actions, and even more so for involving her brother in his unscrupulous schemes. At Harry’s Barn, he pledges to stand up for his family, oblivious to the challenges that await him in the coming year.

In the meantime, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Julie Bates (Karen Henthorn) start searching for care facilities for Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley). It’s a stressful situation as his dementia only seems to get worse and worse.

Nigel’s Confusion, Gina’s New Start

At the same time, Billy (Perry Fenwick) and Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) are taking care of him. He mistakenly believes that Honey is Julie and begins to flirt, while a puzzled Billy observes the situation.

It’s a new chapter for Harry as he resumes his job at The Arches, despite facing difficulties, while Gina also embarks on a fresh start by moving in with Harry’s former partner, Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine).

Phil opts to offer Harry some stern counsel, but Harry misinterprets his advice and decides to take revenge on Ravi instead. Nicola is taken aback when she witnesses her son trying to confront him.

New Year’s Flashforward Episode

On New Year’s Day, 2026 we  jump to 2027 to see what it brings for Max and his family; the Brannings face drama on New Year’s Day 2027, but what happened?

Max is at the center, facing consequences for himself and his family; n the 30-minute episode, other events show that some families in Albert Square want to forget the next year.

Secrets will be revealed, and trouble is unavoidable-viewers will also see what 2027 holds for Max and his loved ones-Max wears a suit with a blood-stained buttonhole… is someone in danger?

2026 will be dramatic in Walford, especially for the Brannings, raising questions about how they ended up in these situations; but not everything is as it seems, so stay tuned.
