EastEnders spoilers and updates for the week of June 2-5 tease custody wars, engagement drama and marriage mistakes.
Lauren Branning’s (Jacqueline Jossa) in a custody war, Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) has engagement drama, and George Knight (Colin Salmon) might be making a marriage mistake!
Tension Rises Between Lauren And Peter
Next week marks a turning point for new parents Lauren and Peter Beale (Thomas Law), but will it be permanent? Tension rises between Lauren and Peter as he grapples with baby Jimmy Beale’s (uncredited infant) diagnosis.
Lauren feels overwhelmed by the support from well-wishers in the Square and urges Peter to join her, but he brushes off her requests.
Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth) team up to assist, yet Peter soon holds Lauren responsible for Jimmy’s blindness.
At her breaking point, recovering alcoholic Lauren goes to The Queen Vic and Harry’s Barn for a drink, but both Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) refuse to serve her.
Custody Wars
Later, Peter tries to connect with Jimmy after Cindy’s encouragement. But when Lauren stays out late and comes back to talk to Peter, he ignores her and leaves for a hospital appointment with Jimmy without her.
Lauren shares Jimmy’s diagnosis with Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton), while Peter feels uplifted after meeting another patient and returns home filled with optimism.
However, when Peter learns that Lauren nearly had a relapse, he decides to break up with her and pledges to fight for custody of Jimmy and their older son Louie Beale (Jake McNally).
Peacemaking Efforts Fail
The following day, Kathy convinces Peter to reconcile with Lauren, and they agree to set their issues aside.
Yet, Peter soon suspects that Lauren is concealing something, prompting him to seek custody advice from Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff). Honey overhears this conversation and informs Lauren, leading her to officially end her relationship with Peter.
Is this truly the conclusion, or will Peter come to regret his actions? And what secret is Lauren keeping?
Engagement Drama
Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) proposes to Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), but their joy is short-lived.
Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) contacts an upset Kat after he fails to secure funds for a limo from his old friend Cheeky (uncredited) because his new partner Kathy can’t provide the money.
Harvey initially attempts to recruit some of Kat’s cab drivers as investors for his new venture, but she thwarts his efforts. Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) offers Harvey some guidance, and he invites Kat to join him as a business partner. Kat refuses and opts to start her own limo service instead.
A Deal Is Made
She meets with Cheeky to purchase the limo, but when he asks for a higher price, Kat asks her ex-husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) for an early payment on their divorce settlement.
After signing a deal, Cheeky informs Kat that she needs to deal with his silent partner. Later, Alfie organizes a fake wedding shoot to advertise the new business and tells Linda he wants to propose to Kat again.
At their flat, Alfie proposes to Kat, and quickly celebrate with a combined hen and stag party, where Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) surprises Kat with a ‘Hag’ do theme.
Although things nearly go wrong, the day turns out to be joyful-however, Kat soon makes a troubling discovery on the family computer, which she suspects is related to Alfie.
Barney And Avani’s New Relationship Heads South
Poor Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman) had a very traumatic week, one minute finding out his father wasn’t his birth father. The next, being told his birth father died in a wreck with his adoptive father at the wheel!
In light of last week’s developments, Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) makes an effort to support him on Monday, but he rebuffs her by making an offensive comment.
The next day, recognizing his mistake, Barney seeks to make amends with Avani by apologizing, yet he is turned away by Avani and her formidable mother Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy).
Can Barney mend his connection with Avani-moreover, what challenges is he still facing from the events of the previous week?
Joel Marshall’s Behavior Gets Even Worse
On the other hand, troubled teen Joel Marshall (Max Murray) is getting worse. After his secret was exposed to the audience, Joel has become increasingly sinister each week, and his negative influence intensifies in the upcoming scenes.
He angers Avani when he attempts to embarrass her; although Avani manages to outsmart him, it unfortunately does not stop Joel from misbehaving in other ways.
Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) is furious when his mother Kat hires Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) to babysit, and Joel feels ashamed when Amy confronts him about how he treated Avani.
Later, however, Joel persuades Tommy to use Alfie’s credit card to view adult content online; could this be the reason for Kat’s shocking discovery?
Marriage Mistakes?
George puts himself in trouble with his wife Elaine (Harriet Thorpe) when he assists his ex, Cindy-he reaches out to her to help her with a strategy to win back the family.
However, it’s obvious that Elaine feels jealous about George’s involvement with Cindy; she’s getting ready for The Albert relaunch.
Her excitement fades when George tells her that their daughters, Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) and Anna Knight (Molly Rainford), will not be there.
Felix Baker (Matthew James Morrison) and Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) team up with Cindy to boost ticket sales, but soon, an argument breaks out between Cindy and Elaine.
George steps in, and Elaine decides to throw a karaoke night on the relaunch day to annoy Cindy.
Disaster Strikes!
Disaster hits when Cindy’s bar staff quit due to unpaid wages, and Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) steps in to assist, then George takes over, Gina shocked to see her father aiding her mother. However, after witnessing Cindy’s efforts, Gina decides to help out.
Freddie and Felix toast to Cindy’s misfortunes with Elaine, but The Vic’s karaoke night turns out to be a disaster, and Elaine is infuriated to learn that Cindy’s party is actually a hit.
Elaine shows up at the party to irritate Cindy, but Cindy seizes the opportunity to share how George supported her and even covered the cost for extra staff! Could George’s unexpected support for Cindy spell trouble for his marriage?
