‘Eastenders’ Spoilers Weekly Update: Ben Returns, Joel’s Mistake, Eve’s Shock, Teddy’s Mission

EastEnders spoilers and updates for the week of October 6 reveal Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) returns, and Joel Marshall (Max Murray) makes a mistake that leads to important questions.

Plus, Eve Panesar-Unwin (Heather Peace) shocks Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) with a big decision, and Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) embarks on a rescue mission.

Ben Returns

On the day of Jonno Highway’s (Richard Graham) funeral, Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth) gathers the Mitchells to stand by Callum Highway (Tony Clay).

Callum requests his partner Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) to keep his distance from the funeral to prevent any suspicion, but when they share a kiss, Kathy witnesses it.

After informing Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and the others, Callum faces Phil, Kathy, Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick), Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton), Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman).

However, Callum reveals some hard truths before telling Johnny that he is serious about their relationship and wants him to attend the funeral after all.

Johnny convinced Stuart to go, while Kathy and the others decided not to reveal the truth to Ben, providing Callum tells Ben and Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown) himself after the funeral.

Johnny And Stuart Try To Keep Callum’s Betrayal A Secret

Callum agrees to the request but is surprised when Ben shows up unexpectedly to support him at the graveside, after Johnno’s put in the ground.  

Johnny and Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) try to keep Callum’s betrayal a secret, while back in Walford, Kathy and Phil are happy to see Ben.

He informs his parents that he was moved to a UK prison for becoming an informant on his cellmate and was allowed day release for the funeral.

Phil and Kathy are preoccupied with the knowledge of Callum and Johnny’s relationship, and Johnny attempts to convince Callum to stay silent.

Callum Is Determined To Tell Ben

Despite his determination to inform Ben, Callum is questioning if this is truly the right moment and location—at Johnno’s funeral.

How will Ben react upon learning that his husband has been disloyal and intends to leave him for Johnny, especially with the prospect of returning to prison?

After Ben is sent back to prison, Kathy and Julie Bates (Karen Henthorn) encourage Phil to visit him before he departs for the airport. 

Where exactly is Phil headed, and will he be available for Ben in his time of need? Additionally, what of Callum—will he look back on his choice with regret?

Joel’s Mistake

Elsewhere,  Joel instigates a troubling incident that sparks crucial discussions about toxic masculinity. After expressing his misogynistic beliefs once more, Joel and Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) get into an argument, prompting Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) to step in.

Joel defiantly retorts and storms off, leaving Ross and Vicki perplexed about how to address his actions. The next day, an altercation occurs at school, initiated by Joel and Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall).

This situation ignites a debate within the community, as parents and teenagers engage in conversations about the events and the effects of harmful online content.

Difficult Conversations Take Place

Tough conversations take place  between peers, parents, and their children, where age and gender significantly affect how they perceive the incident.

Ross with Vicki, alongside Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), challenge Joel and Tommy on their sexist attitudes. But things spiral out of control when Joel violently attacks Vicki at home, shocking everyone present, leaving Vicki in pain!

With Joel’s misconduct now visible to the outside world, what will he do next? Is Joel becoming too dangerous to handle on their own?

Eve’s Shock

Following the sale of the house, Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy), Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James), and Davinder ‘Nugget’ Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) reluctantly move  back into Suki’s home.

Suki makes an effort to mend fences with them, while Avani encourages her to connect with Eve. They agree to meet for drinks at The Albert, but their evening begins on a shaky note.

Eve then discloses her desire to adopt a baby with Suki, leaving Priya stunned when she later catches Suki looking into adoption.

The family expresses their disapproval of Suki, labeling her a bad mother and cautioning her against the idea; Suki decides to talk to Eve, but what decision will the couple come to?

Teddy’s Rescue Mission

Additionally, Teddy intends to put an end to Ravi’s tyranny over Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) and Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho). A lovestruck Harry and his girlfriend Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) come back from their weekend getaway.

However, Harry is shocked when Kojo suddenly collapses in The Arches, realizing that Kojo is still under Ravi and Tobias ‘Okie’ Okyere’s (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu) influence.

In the meantime, George has returned home to check on Kojo after Phil updates him on the situation, but George’s excessive concern leads Kojo to push him away.

When Harry attempts to discuss the matter with Ravi, he is brushed off, prompting him to seek assistance from his father Teddy.

Teddy Talks Harry Out Of Turning Himself In, Teaming Up To Try To Save Kojo

Teddy persuades Harry not to turn himself in to the authorities, but after Ravi kicks Teddy out of his business, Teddy enlists Harry to take Kojo and Gina out.

He attempts to catch Ravi off guard as he makes his way to Kojo’s flat; when Ravi and Okie come back, Teddy has no choice but to hide in the bathroom.

Meanwhile, Harry skillfully dodges George’s inquiries as both of them grow increasingly worried about Kojo. Gina and Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) instruct George to ease up on Kojo.

But Harry turns pale upon discovering that Okie has arranged a car show outside of Walford for Kojo, suspecting it to be a setup for another shady job.
