Fans have known since July that Calderon was exiting the role and that it would be recast but there hasn’t been much news since then.
Now a clue is pointing to Martinez stepping into the role as the actor was spotted at the Days holiday party.
Jacob Martinez Was Tagged On Instagram
Martinez being at the holiday party certainly points at him being part of the cast. Of course, he was tagged in photos as well.
Martinez is following several Days cast members as well including Greg Rikaart (Leo Stark), Cherie Jimenez (Gabi Hernandez), Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez), that ones he would be working the closest with, and more.
Martinez looks enough like Javi to certainly be playing him as well. It is going to take a bit to get used to having a new Javi as most recasts take time to adjust to.
It certainly helps that Martinez looks the part as his resemblance to Al is striking. Martinez will certainly put his own spin on the character. However, Martinez debut could still be a little ways down the road.
Javi Hernandez Scenes Are Filmed Until May
Martinez’s first air date isn’t know at the moment, but Al has taped scenes through May 2026. Martinez will take over some time after that, but updates will be giving on his first airdate on down the road.
It will be exciting to see Martinez’s take on the character as he takes over the role and his chemistry with Greg is certainly a concern.
Right now, Al’s version of Javi has some great stuff coming up including Javi and Leo’s wedding. Days spoilers are previewing some shockers ahead for Leo and Javi.
However, their wedding will be one of the main things that is coming. Fans cannot wait to see how things go once a new Javi is on board. Until then, its a wait and see game.
Big Shoes To Fill
Calderon has been amazing as Javi since he first came to Salem. Leo and Javi’s romance has been somewhat adorable as well.
Fans are invested in this couple and honestly, it is nice the Calderon will be there for the wedding. Leo and Javi have a great life ahead of them and fans want to see certain things out of this relationship.
After watching Javi and Leo as foster parents, fans certainly want to know if these two plan to adopt a baby down the road. Leo has never seemed like parental material but he is a much nicer guy with Javi.
