Every season of Dancing with the Stars seems to have one contestant viewers just can’t stop talking about. Remember, one unpopular choice was Tiger King’s Carole Baskin in Season 29.
Then, there was Sean Spicer in Season 28. And, who can forget convicted conartist Anna Delvey? With Season 34 kicking off in September, fans start speculating on who might step into that love-to-hate role this year.
Rumored & Known Cast Members
A list of rumored names that leaked suggested that there are a lot of uncertain contestants on the ABC show this year. However, only four of them have been confirmed. They include Robert Irwin, Alix Earle, Jen Affleck, and Whitney Leavitt.
They’re a mix of fan favorites, influencers, and fresh personalities. So, there are no obvious villains there. But when you check the rumored lineup, some villain possibilities start to appear.
Possible Villains?
Among the rumored contestants are Jordan Chiles (Olympic gymnast), Baron Davis (former NBA point guard), and Dylan Efron (The Traitors). Then, there’s Corey Feldman (The Goonies), Danielle Fishel (Boy Meets World), Elaine Hendrix (The Parent Trap), Scott Hoying (Pentatonix), and Andy Richter, a comedian.
So who fits the villain profile? Well, possibly the strongest candidate is Corey Feldman. He’s been in the spotlight since the 1980s, but more recently, his eccentric performances, outspoken interviews, and controversies made him something of a polarizing figure. Feldman has die-hard supporters, but plenty of skeptics too. That mix could easily put him in the love-to-hate spotlight.
Another possibility could be Elaine Hendrix. On screen, she’s best remembered as Meredith Blake, the stylish antagonist in The Parent Trap. Of course, in real life she’s nothing like her character, but producers tend to look for pop culture associations. If the edit plays up her “icy” persona, she could become this season’s elegant villain.
Andy Richer Is The Villain?
Andy Richter might also get strong reactions from DWTS fans. He’s known for his dry, sometimes sarcastic humor, and not everyone gets that. So, he could be portrayed as a grumpy or reluctant competitor. While he might not qualify as a villain, he might end up as a person the audience roll their eyes at.
As for the rest of the rumored Dancing With the Stars cast, they seem more likely to be people-pleasers. For example, Danielle Fishel carries plenty of nostalgia, and Scott Hoying has a huge fan base. Meanwhile, Jordan Chiles is an Olympian with natural goodwill on her side.
There’s still the mystery of one more spot in the lineup. Depending on who steps in, the role of this season’s villain could shift dramatically.
For now, though, the probability seems high that the production team might have chosen Corey Feldman as the unpredictable, and irritating character that fans love to hate.
