Dancing With The Stars Fan Fave Derek Hough Joining Survivor?

Could Dancing With The Stars fan fave Derek Hough survive on a deserted island?  General consensus on the internet is NO, but he might have to. The DWTS host and former competitor is campaigning for a spot on Survivor with Jeff Probst and negotiations are getting pretty serious.

Derek Hough began his Dancing With The Stars career on ABC in 2007 and went on to win six seasons. He took some time off in 2017, and went on to work on other projects. Since Season 29, Hough has been a judge on DWTS. Over the years Derek was paired up with many big name celebs like Bindi Irwin, Marilu Henner, Brooke Burke, Lil Kim, and Jennie Garth.  

If you follow Derek on social media then you know that the dancer and his wife have been bingeing a LOT of television while they are waiting for the birth of their first child together.  Recently, Derek Hough discovered Survivor and he’s hooked.  He also has been hanging out with Survivor legend Rob Mariano a lot too.  

Derek Hough Is A Survivor Fan Now

Over the weekend the DWTS judge went on social media and announced he would join the Survivor cast if Boston Rob competed on Dancing With The Stars. 

Rob Mariano is one of those celebs who have been rumored to have received offers more than once from ABC to appear on DWTS, and turned them down.  But, he recently spent a lot of time on the set hanging out with his pal Dylan Efron.  Maybe Boston Rob will have a change of heart now?

Interestingly, Jeff Probst posted a video on social media and it sounds like he’s thrilled about Derek Hough taking an interest in Survivor.

Probst joked in a new video, ““Derek, I am so happy to hear you’ve finally discovered Survivor.  That’s OK it took a while — you’ve been busy. And you’re digging it. Welcome to the tribe. And congratulations on Dancing With the Stars’ most recent season. You guys really killed it — it was great.”

The legendary Survivor host added, “And now that you’ve issued a dare to Rob, this could get interesting, ’cause you know as well as I do that Boston Rob is the kinda guy who will take that dare and end up winning Dancing With the Stars. And then the pressure’s really on you, because not only are you out on Survivor next year with us, you gotta win. Let me know!”
