D4VD Puts Affairs In Order Amid Teen’s Death Investigation

David Anthony Burke, aka D4vd, seems to be getting his affairs in order despite not being named as a suspect in the death investigation of teen Celest Rivas Hernandez. In early October, he retained the services of a top attorney named Blair Berk. And now, he did something else that true crime fans suspect doesn’t point to his innocence.

R&B Singer Transfers Home

According to a new report by TMZ this week, the rising music star transferred not one, but two homes into the name of his mom. The homes in the Houston area in Texas ended up placed “under a trust to his mother.”

Of course, doing that doesn’t prove that D4vd had anything to do with the death of Celeste, who was found in an advanced state of decomposition on September 8. And, in fact, he did the transfer of the homes after “cops were called to one of his homes for a swatting incident.”

That came on September 18, and that same day and the next saw him make the transfers. Recall, a home he rented in Las Vegas was thoroughly searched just a day prior to that. So, it wasn’t the same home that he had the right to transfer.

Fans React With Suspicion

When the outlet shared the new update on Instagram, many people went into the comments section to discuss the transfer of the home. Clearly, many of them believe that placing the homes in a trust in his mom’s name seems way too much like someone cleaning up house in case he ends up charged by the cops.

One person wrote, “Aw man that’s not what you do if your (sic) innocent.”

Here are a few more reactions:

  • Hmm this man is screaming ‘I did it.’
  • How has this guy not been arrested[?]
  • Not once did he make a statement of him being innocent
  • He’s not innocent ! The music, the merch etc wtf.

Some folks suspect that D4vd might have moved the ownership of the home in case Celeste’s family sues him civilly for her death. And the reference to the merch refers to him removing a white t-shirt with a bloody hand on it from his store.

No Suspect, No Arrest

Many people seem to think that D4vd is guilty of murder, as Celeste’s body was found in his abandoned Tesla. Plus, they argue that his music videos seem very dark. However, as noted by NewsNation, the police can’t arrest him for “artistic expression.”

Rage grew when reports arrived that the police don’t want to make an arrest because Celeste’s cause of death couldn’t be established. While critics call for the FBI to take over the investigation, more people accuse the wealthy of facing a different standard of justice.

Still, the singer could one day be either cleared of involvement or arrested. Only time will tell. But for now, cleaning up his affairs and engaging a lawyer only makes true crime aficionados even more suspicious of his alleged involvement.
