Chad Ollinger: ‘Blind Frog Ranch’ Star’s Bizarre Alleged Jail Killing

A reality star’s shocking jailhouse murder case takes a bizarre turn as he blames supernatural powers for a fatal attack.

Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch Star Chad Ollinger - True Crime Suspect - Gray County Texas Sheriff

Reality TV star Chad Ollinger, 41, traded his treasure-hunting for a murder charge. Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch on Discovery shows that he’s very active and a bit rough around the edges. Well, he was arrested, but then allegedly killed his cellmate at the Clark County Detention Center. And, it seems he came up with the weirdest reason for it.

The Bizarre Excuse For Murder

Obviously, after the true crime news hit the headlines on December 30, many reports flooded in. The alleged murder took place on the day after Christmas, but took time to reach reporters.

Well, it was Fox 5 Vegas and Deadline that reported a very strange conversation took place with investigators. Chad Ollinger allegedly claimed that he discovered he possesses “supernatural powers.”

The dead cellmate, a man named Christopher Kelly (42), ran out of luck when Ollinger ended up bunking with him. Reports suggest that Ollinger believed through his amazing supernatural powers that Kelly was preying on kids. Actually, there’s no evidence to support that.

For his suspected sins against kids, Ollinger allegedly killed him by blunt force in jail and there’s suspicion that he also strangled Christopher Kelly.

No Remorse

Not remorseful, because of his newfound psychic ability, one has to wonder if that will be his defense if he goes to trial. You know, voices, spiritual things, and mental health issues. But interestingly, he claimed he suffered from no mental health disorders.

Ollinger allegedly told the officers in the jail that his cellmate wasn’t feeling well. Checking Kelly, he was deceased and bleeding. Still, he showed no sorrow, joking about the luck they’d need to find the perpetrator.

Memory Loss & Other Excuses

Next, he claimed that he’d suffered from a loss of memory, and attributed it to the fact that something bad must have happened to traumatize him. However, he apparently remembered that he had kids, because he felt motivated to take the life of Kelly because of his alleged predations on minors.

The Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch episodes never had anything as weird as supernatural powers making a self-appointed executioner kill someone they’d just met. And sadly for Kelly, it wasn’t a violent true crime against a person that landed Ollinger in jail in the first place.

Other Run-Ins With The Law

Apparently, the Discovery star arrived in Las Vegas because he was on the run from another state. So, he faced contempt of court charges. Additionally, he ended up in trouble with the cops in Texas when he fled after running a red stoplight. Oh, and his driver’s license wasn’t a good one.

Running a light, a bad license, and other relatively minor charges landed him in Christopher Kelly’s cell and now a man is dead.

TV Fans React To The News

Many people who saw the story when TMZ TV shared it on Instagram believed that the mysterious ranch did something to Chad Ollinger’s mind. Bear in mind, that Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch covered not only treasure hunting, but also archaeology, and paranormal investigation.

One reader opined, “That ranch did something to him. Something unknown to mankind.” Hmm, let’s see how well that goes down with a judge during the open murder trial.

Others also wondered about that thought. Here are a few other responses from the discussion:

  • Whoa the Ranch did it to him.
  • that place is rookie knucklehead Central.
  • Aliens made him do it.
