A Strange Pairing in a Brutal Environment

This season, Kody Brown remained in the competition alongside Brianna, former NFL player Andrew East, Olympic icon Shawn Johnson, and Bravo star Gia Giudice.

Yet, despite Kody’s reality TV notoriety, many cast members had no idea who he was — and the feeling was mutual.

Kody recognized the athletes but genuinely didn’t know who Brianna was, even asking her on camera what she was known for.

Meanwhile, Brianna arrived carrying the emotional weight of a publicly messy breakup with singer Zach Bryan, telling viewers she was dealing with PTSD as she stepped into an environment built on silence, obedience, and endurance.

From the start, she clashed with the directing staff, and being paired with an ex-polygamist whose worldview clashed with her own? That became its own test of patience.

When Frustration Boils Over

It didn’t take long for Brianna’s irritation to surface. During one challenge, she bluntly told Kody, “You are the brawn; we are the brains,” essentially instructing him to stay quiet and follow the plan.

Off-camera — on her podcasts — Brianna didn’t hold back either. She accused Kody of “berating women,” referred to him as “slow,” and labeled him a narcissist, at one point calling him an “insane F*ng person who treats women badly.”

And just when viewers thought the dynamic couldn’t get any stranger, Brianna dropped a jaw-dropping story on the finale of the “BFFS” podcast — one she teased by saying, “This is the tea that nobody knows about this… I didn’t say it on anything. I was going to save it for Plan Bri.”

The Robyn Brown Bombshell That Left Brianna Speechless

According to Brianna, the cast went out for dinner in New York during the reunion taping, most showing up with spouses or partners. Kody came alone.

When she casually asked about Robyn, Brianna said Kody told her his wife didn’t attend because if she did, “she was going to murder me.”

Brianna recalled Kody saying, “Are you crazy? I have a Mormon sister wife who wants to skin me alive, dude. I couldn’t even [__] believe it.”

Her confusion was genuine. She explained:

“First of all, what did I do? If you guys are watching Special Forces, I’m like, I think I was the nicest one to him on the show. I was like doing gentle parenting.”

She insisted they were perfectly civil that day — calm, taking photos, doing press — which is why she was stunned when she claimed he added:

“His wife wants to put a gun to my head.”

That left Brianna with a final lingering question — one she still doesn’t have an answer to.

She ended the segment by admitting she still can’t decide whether Kody is “misunderstood, if he’s bad, or what.” She added, “I just I’m leaving it as I feel bad, and I just don’t want to touch it anymore because I think he’s got a bunch of screws loose, and I just don’t want to make fun of him.”

And as for whether fans will get a Special Forces reunion? Even she wasn’t sure.
