B&B Spoilers: Taylor Turns Up the Heat on Ridge While Nick’s Proposal to Brooke Falls Flat

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Nick Marone (Jack Wagner) is feeling bad and is apologetic. But his demeanor didn’t prevent him from presenting that massive rock to Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang).

Her rejection of his engagement offer happened in Los Angeles, California. But would Brooke be wearing that ring if she hadn’t been recklessly lying on the back of Nick’s boat in Italy?

A reasonable answer to the above question is probably. An alternative storyline outcome, where Brooke is flaunting the big rock Nick wanted her to be wearing, would surely garner excessive reactions. But it wasn’t meant to be and may never happen.

Might Brooke Logan Still Marry Nick Marone?

Brooke loves Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) more than any other man on the planet. Nick might rank second. But the gap between the paternal brothers is wider than the distance various characters recently crossed when returning home from Europe.

Marrying Nick would be a major shift. Brooke now believes that Ridge’s mind has been properly reset because of his dramatic rescue of her.

However, he’ll need to fully extricate himself from his engagement to Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig), and that won’t be easy. Yet, he’s promised Brooke that he’ll make things right.

Taylor Hayes Isn’t Prepared To Lose

Taylor’s desperation was obvious. Asking Ridge to marry her was a play against Brooke.

She knows that Ridge remains vulnerable to Brooke’s presence. Taylor also realizes that unless she and Ridge tie the daytime knot, Brooke has an opportunity to snatch him away one more time.

The broken heart syndrome that served as Budig’s recast character’s return to LA was serious. Taylor could have died, but didn’t. So, it will be interesting to see if that health issue is mined when the Brooke threat returns for real, and through Ridge’s admission or confirmation of that renewed connection.

Ridge Forrester Motivated By Brother

Ridge and Nick are hardly close. They detest each other and don’t think of being family.

Brooke is Ridge’s family, and so is Taylor. Seeing Nick back in LA reignited a fire in Ridge that Brooke needed because he had slipped away and was gearing himself to remarry Taylor.

However, Eric Forrester (John McCook) stood as a clear voice. He continued to tell his adopted son that Nick wasn’t the man for Brooke and that she was the only woman Ridge loved.

Nick’s return proved to be vital to Ridge recognizing that the woman he should be with is Brooke and that whatever feelings he has for Taylor don’t and likely will never match what his Logan represents.

Kaye’s character wasn’t able to deny what his dad said, and the fans saw what was in Ridge’s heart and mind after he rescued Brooke in Italy.
