The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) still has a so-called inoperable terminal tumor.
But John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) was able to extract the bullet that Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) twisted progeny pumped into his at close range.
Wanting viewers are gleefully suspending disbelief in accepting that Liam survived being struck in the chest, not the foot like Sheila, by the second bullet fired from Luna Nozawa’s (Lisa Yamada) illegally obtained weapon.
Surely it was not used as a peacemaker. Instead, this soapy summer mayhem that has ensued envelopes all that daytime viewers embrace.
But Liam didn’t drop dead after Luna shot him. Instead, he got off the floor of his father’s beach house, turned makeshift summer art school, grabbed her gun, delightfully delivered his dead man line, and then pulled the trigger.
Observing Life-Saving Surgery In Los Angeles
Despite not instantly dying due to the impact of the metal that entered his body and then gunning Luna down, Liam also survived long enough to make it to surgery.
How many hospitals anywhere in the known world have an observation area where loved ones or whoever can witness life-saving surgery?
Thankfully, University Hospital, in this version of Los Angeles, California, does because Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), Hope Logan (Annika Noelle), and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) watched Finn save Liam.
Fans may have been wondering if the bullet destroyed the tumor, and all would be resolved during the emergency procedure. Luna would have likely claimed credit for that outcome in the future, if so.
Meanwhile, Sheila Carter’s Stock Rises
Steffy was adamant. She couldn’t maintain eye contact with Luna. At the same time, Yamada’s character repeatedly pointed the gun at her during the conflict, before Liam arrived to save the day, but wouldn’t agree to allow her unwanted stepdaughter to have contact with Finn.
Wood’s character deserves credit for sticking to her, well, guns, for being willing to die on principle. Sheila’s arrival at the property Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) owns added a unique flavor as well.
It was a full reversal of the iconic scene where Brown’s character accidentally shot Finn while trying to shoot Steffy and then purposely shot her with a second trigger pull in the alley behind Il Giardino.
Sheila took the first bullet this time and lost another toe on her already bad foot. That establishes the assumed need for one of soap’s most infamous villains to be forced to walk with a pronounced gait going forward.
Whether Steffy allows Sheila to have what Luna wanted for herself and her grandmother, contact with Finn, feels potentially more likely.
Luna Nozawa Follows Her Father’s Path?
Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) told Poppy Nozawa (Romy Park) that Luna died in recovery. That happened after Li told her staff that she would take over following her successful pull of the bullet, begging the obvious deja vu question.
Is Li replaying the scenario where she claimed Finn was dead but secretly doctored him back to health at a clandestine location? Certainly, Sheila will question Luna’s death and Li’s claim of it after learning this news and having time to process all that’s happened.
Viewers recall that Sheila somehow learned Li was keeping Finn and eventually chased Matsuda’s character off a bridge and into what should have been a watery grave.
So, if Luna’s body is quickly cremated, another open question will remain, with buzz already in the ether that Yamada hasn’t exited the cast.
