Earlier this month, a passenger died on a Carnival cruise, prompting an FBI investigation. Later, the passenger on the Carnival Cruise Line was identified as 18-year-old Anna Kepler, who was about to join the military after graduation.

Well, little news arrived after the ship docked in Miami. But now, reports arrived that a stepsibling might face an arrest in her suspicious death.

Vacationing With Blended Family

CBS reported on the update on YouTube on November 19. In the video, correspondent Cristian Benavides explained more. Apparently, she’d been found wrapped in a blanket and pushed under a bed. And, the night before, she said she didn’t feel well, so retired alone to her cabin.

Of course, she didn’t show up for breakfast, so a search began. Apparently, a housekeeper found her body.

In his updates, Christian also said:

CBS News has learned that criminal charges may soon be filed against the stepsibling of Anna Kepner, the 18-year-old high school cheerleader from Titusville, Florida, who was found dead on the Carnival cruise ship.

Anna Kepler had been traveling with her family, including three step-siblings. Well, as we reported, citing Maritime Attorney Michael, there are no police on board. So, the investigation would rely on security officers and in-house cameras on the Carnival Cruise Liner.

The Investigation

Apparently, the FBI have been examining camera footage, cell phones, and card key access. Details are few and far between at the moment.

However, it does seem, according to sources, that the suspicious death might have involved a close family member. Sadly, that is often the case in true crime investigations.

Viewers React

As there’s a lot of interest in crime, deaths, and other things related to cruise vacations, plenty of people arrived to say something in the comments.

One of them opined, “Sounds like stepbrother SA and killed her I think his uncle posted about it on facebook claiming it’s being covered up by the family.”

Here are a few more opinions and responses:

  • So a male close to her murdered her, as is (nearly) always the case.
  • So much for all the people commenting about how dangerous cruise ships are when it was her teenage stepbrother.
  • Imagine going on a cruise with your father and ending up dead. I’m sure this young lady’s mom is inconsolable.
  • I seen someone else comment a while back that the family not speaking out was suspicious now I agree! WOW.
  • The dad must be torn up that he brought his daughter’s future killer into the family.

No Official Statement On Suspect

Having shared all of those opinions, it should be noted that the FBI have not openly given any statement about the arrest of a step-sibling from the blended family. But stay tuned, because when we hear any confirmation of that, we will be sure to let you know.
