A Chicago PD Fan Fave Returns Next Month!

Chicago One fans are counting down the days until January when Chicago PD returns to NBC with all new episodes. 

TV spoilers reveal that one of viewers’ favorite characters is back on set and filming for the new season.  Keep reading for all the details!  Here’s what we know so far about the return of Chicago PD.

Chicago spoilers confirm that Patrick John Flueger was spotted back on set on December 11, 2025 with the cast and crew. 

Flueger’s fellow cast-member Marina Squerciati took to Instagram and shared a photo of the Adam Ruzek portrayer with his birthday cake on set.  Fan faves Atwater and Torres also posed with the birthday boy.  

Bruzek Is Coming Back

In October, Adam Ruzek vanished from Chicago PD episodes, and his absence was never addressed on the show.  Ruzek’s wife Burgess (Marina Squerciati) has still been front and center on the show while her hubby was MIA. 

It was revealed later that Patrick John Flueger took some unexpected time off from filming for personal reasons.  Now, we can confirm the actor is back on the set.

Chicago PD actually films several episodes in advance.  If Patrick John Flueger was filming on his birthday on December 11 2025, then those scenes might not air on the actual show until late January or early February.

Chicago PD 2026 Return Date

According to TV spoilers, Chicago PD is set to return to primetime after the holidays on January 7 2026, with Season 13 Episode 8. 

After the holidays, NBC will be slowly rolling out all new episodes of the Chicago One series on Thursday nights.  Chicago PD will return to its regular timeslot at 10:00 PM.
