2025 Daytime Emmys: Who’s Hosting, Soap Legends Tribute, Fan Tickets Comeback + More

Daytime drama fans should mark Friday, October 17, on the calendar, as the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmys will be streaming live via ‘watch.theemmys.tv’ through The Emmys app.

Who’s Hosting?

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) recently revealed that Access Hollywood (AH) host and former star of Saved by the Bell, Mario Lopez, is set to host the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards.

In addition, Access Hollywood and NATAS are teaming up to deliver behind-the-scenes highlights on AH ahead of the awards ceremony, as well as coverage after the event takes place, which will air on Monday, October 20.

Daytime Legends Honored

In addition, the show will celebrate the careers of some legendary soap opera actors, actresses, and creatives, who positively impacted the industry. The ‘Achievement and Circle Honors’ include:

• Greg Barna(director of photography) — Silver Circle.
• Judy Blye Wilson(casting director, The Young and the Restless) — Silver Circle.
• Jane Elliott(General Hospital, Tracy Quartermaine) — inducted into the Gold Circle.
• Kate Linder(The Young and the Restless, Esther Valentine) — Silver Circle.
• James Reynolds(Days of our Lives, Abe Carver) — Silver Circle.

Plus, Deborah Norville will be this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for her work as the longest-serving female anchor in U.S. television.

New Traditions

Some new categories will debut during the 2025 Daytime Emmys, including Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series and Outstanding Culinary Cultural Series.

It’s important to note that fans will return to the live audience, so it’ll be interesting to see how that all plays out!
