Queen Camilla Set To Go Toe-To-Toe With Meghan Markle With New Podcast

Queen Camilla Set To Go Toe-To-Toe With Meghan Markle With New PodcastIf you don’t already know yet that our Queen loves to read and is devoted to inspiring the love of reading in others, then you don’t know nothing about her.

This year, she’s decided to take this passion to a new level by launching a podcast that will include some of the biggest names in art, Sir Ian Rankin and Dame Joanna Lumley.

Queen Camilla To Discuss Her Reading Habits In Eight-Part Podcast

To avoid comparisons with Meghan Markle’s very own Archetypes, Camilla is launching this podcast as a guest speaker instead of as a host.

The eight-part audio series was reportedly recorded in one take and promises to bring us interesting conversations with the world’s biggest and brightest.

The podcast series, aptly titled “The Queen’s Reading Room,” will serve as an extension to her online book club, and will see her and several others discuss their reading habits.

Her conversations were recorded in one sitting last month and will partly air in each weekly episode.

Queen Camilla Praised As “A Natural Podcaster”

When Spotify cancelled Meghan Markle’s podcast “Archetypes,” a top Spotify exec Bill Simmons called her and husband Prince Harry lazy “grifters.”

However, when it comes to work ethics in the podcasting space, Queen Camilla can very well hold her own.

According to Vicki Perrin, who is the chief executive of the podcast, she did wonders by recording the entire thing in one sitting.

“She is [a natural podcaster]. It was done in one take, which is a difficult thing to do… It’s a really lovely and intimate thing,” Perrin, presents the podcast, said.

“This is a production made in-house with a budget [that is] quite different. We are an independent charity and we are thrilled Her Majesty features on the podcast. But it is not her podcast. She is not launching this as a host.”

As the vice-patron of the the Royal Commonwealth Society, Camilla also gets to champion literature and arts within the Commonwealth. She once promised, “I am determined to visit more Commonwealth countries as soon as I can, and I promise you that I will always seek out the QCEC wherever I go.”
