That’s not all the Princess is reportedly looking forward to; King Charles is set to offer her a promotion. Imagine the Princess of Wales wielding the most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain. Sounds just about appropriate, doesn’t it?
Princess Kate To Reportedly Receive Promotion From King Charles
It’s public knowledge among fans of the Royal Family that the monarch is extremely fond of his daughter-in-law Kate, so it doesn’t come as much a surprise to hear that he is planning on appointing her as the Order of the Garter, the most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain.
The members of the order are handpicked by the King, and key members in the Royal Family such as Prince William, Queen Camilla, Princess Anne and Prince Edward already part of the Order of the Garter.
In the slimmed-down monarchy model favored by King Charles, only those who are in direct succession to the throne get to handle certain titles.
So, it’s also possible the King may give the Princess the right to grant certain royal warrants, alongside Queen Camilla and Prince William.
Royal warrants will soon be reviewed for a group of around 800 firms that supply the royal household. The document allows certain companies to use the Royal Arms in their branding, including garment makers Burberry and Barbour.
While the monarch has the power to grant these royal warrants, Queen Elizabeth shared the power with Prince Philip and King Charles during her reign.
With Kate being such a big influence on the British fashion industry, having her wield the title will definitely create major interest in the brands and be a healthy boost to the economy.
An existing warrant holder said: “Interest would go through the roof, particularly in areas such as fashion and lifestyle.”
