Meanwhile, the Big Sky star’s new sitcom comes 23 years after the debut of her successful sitcom, Reba, which aired on the former WB network in 2001. The country singer’s new sitcom reunites her with her former Reba showrunner, Kevin Abbott, who is writing and producing the script. According to Deadline, the plot line for the show, Reba inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover she has a new business partner in a half-sister she never knew she had.
Meanwhile, the previous show Reba ran until 2007 and told the story of a “single mom who works too hard.” In that show, McEntire’s character cares for her three children while undergoing a divorce.

Moreover, the sitcom, which was set in Houston, also featured Christopher Rich as Reba’s ex-husband. In the plot, he left his wife for his pregnant dental hygienist, Barbara, played by Melissa Peterman.

Fans of Reba McEntire took to social media to reveal how thrilled they are to see The Voice coach returning to TV. One fan commented, writing, “Keep the momentum going. I wouldn’t be surprised if Reba is working on a new album.” Yet another is clearly thrilled, while writing, “She’s baaaack!!! Best news ever!”
