General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest, that as fans hit the end of 2023, it’s natural to reflect upon the year gone by. The land of Port Charles has been a dramatic and exciting place for the past 12 months, with many ups and downs.
Characters have fallen in love, hopped on adventures, cried tears of sadness, and experienced insurmountable joy. This begs the question, what was your favorite story told on GH in 2023?
General Hospital Spoilers – Nina Reeves’ SEC Secret
It’s the storyline that keeps rolling on! Who knew the domino effect that would come to be after Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) ratted Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) to the feds about their insider trading?
From the initial shock of Carly getting hauled into questioning during the Millow wedding to Drew getting sent to prison for three years, not to mention Ned Quartermaine’s (Wally Kurth) “accident” at the Metro Court Pool; fans have been on a roller coaster ride with this tale.
Looks like there’s no stop in sight, and the major reveal to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) may occur in 2024.
Sasha Gilmore Gets Committed
This was a very hard watch for many fans, and a tad controversial, but the entire storyline did keep viewers on the edge of their seats. It was like a horror film that you didn’t necessarily want to watch but couldn’t keep your eyes off.
While Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) didn’t deserve to be tortured at Ferncliff by Dr. Damian Montague/Dr. Monty (Darin Toonder), which was essentially instigated by her greedy mother-in-law Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) the big ending of the storyline made it all worth it.
Who Is Pikeman?
This one continues to keep fans tuning in daily! For months now, GH viewers have wondered who was behind the global security organization “Pikeman”; who so desperately want to work with Sonny, and who the feds so desperately want to nail.
While we now know Mr. Brennan (Charles Mesure) is their fearless leader, we still don’t know the “why” (or even his first name for that matter).
Willow Corinthos’s Battle With Leukemia
How many fans thought Willow was a goner multiple times this year? She came so close to death, it was terrifying!
Alas, Willow fought her leukemia her way, and while many fans were divided on whether or not she should’ve sought treatment during her pregnancy, everything worked out for the best in the end.
Not without many, many tears both from Willow herself, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), bio mom Nina, and fans!
Still, probably the two best things to come out of the storyline were Amelia Corinthos (Siobhan) and Willow’s newfound bond with her Great-Aunt Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati)
GH Spoilers – Nikolas Cassadine Is Dead … Or Is He?
Most fans could see Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) returning from the “dead” at some point after he “died” at Wyndemere; however, when it was revealed that Mason Gatlin (Nathanyeal Grey) had him hooked to life support, we all gave a collective gasp while watching the end of that fateful March 1st episode.
Nik’s “death” storyline not only showed how far Ava Jerome (Maura West) would go to protect her daughter, but it also had fans questioning who Mason was working for and what Austin Gatlin-Holt’s connection to him and his “boss” was.
There was a blunder in the fact that many believed a woman to be the leader of this organization when it ended up being Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober); however, learning more about Mason, Austin, and how they came to be Cyrus’s goons was an interesting watch.
