Kate Middleton Says She Prince William Hope To Build A “Healthier World” With Young People

Kate Middleton Says She And Husband Prince William Hope To Build A “Healthier World” With Young PeopleThe Princess of Wales has been passionate about supporting young people and giving them a healthier upbringing for many years now. She believes that the Early Years play a crucial part in how humans handle stress when they’re older.

In conjunction with William, the power couple launched Heads Together, which provides a free service to people suffering from mental health challenges, in 2016. In their latest outing, Kate gave an impassioned speech about building a “fairer, safer, kinder” and more equitable world with the help of young people.

Kate Middleton Applauds Young People For Openly Talking About Their Mental Health

Prince William and Kate Middleton traveled to Birmingham, England, to host “Exploring Our Emotional Worlds,” a forum that allows young people to discuss how their communities influence their mental health.

After assuring her audience of her and her husband’s dedication to mental health, she said, “Back in 2016, we launched Heads Together, a campaign supported by so many wonderful partners that helped break the stigma around mental health, and encouraged more people to have everyday conversations about it. Alongside the efforts of many others, we have seen real change. Today, more people feel empowered to talk about their mental health than ever before. This is a major step forward.”

The princess, who continued her string of suits in a yellow blazer, black blouse and wide-legged trousers, added that she and William are inspired by the younger generation, who are more open about their mental health issues than those that came before them. However, she did admit that simply talking about our problems is not enough.

“It is important, however, to remind ourselves of the big picture as we meet here today. What are we trying to improve by focusing our efforts on mental health? Ultimately, we are working to build a happier, healthier world. We want to shape fairer, safer, kinder, more equal societies—societies that seek the common good and a better future together.”

Kate Middleton Says “Science and Research” Backs Up Ability To Shape A Positive Mental Health

The Princess of Wales went on to note the things that shape a positive mindset, even in our present ever-changing and evolving world of pandemics, social media, climate change and threat of conflict.

She added: “Today we heard the science and research that backs this up, and how crucial it is that we develop the skills needed to navigate everything we will face in the future. William and I believe we need to do all we can as a society to help young people develop the emotional and social life skills they need for good mental health, and to thrive in the world around them. Both learning about the world and learning about how to be happy and thrive within it should go hand in hand.”

She then urged for the normalization of mental health discussions and promised that she and William will continue to champion it.
