GH Spoilers: Will Distance Make Hearts Grow Fonder As Drew Heads To Pentonville?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) has prepared himself for six months away from everyone he loves. Spending half of the year in Spring Ridge sounded worth it to him to exempt the love of his life, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), from having to endure a serious prison sentence for insider trading. But when things went awry in the courtroom and Drew ended up with a sentence for two years’ time, it left everyone turned on their heads. In the weeks ahead, this shock will have a serious impact on Drew’s relationship with Carly. She might be feeling too guilty to hang onto the guy, and at the same time, feeling like she can’t possibly move on while he rots in a jail cell on her behalf.

That being said, Drew could end up pushing Carly away, wanting her to move on instead of putting her life on hold for the next two years to wait for him. Yes, two years. That’s a long time to put a relationship on pause and hope it all works out when he’s free.

This was supposed to be a simple process. Zeke Robinson (Gavin Houston) assured Drew that pleading guilty to insider trading and taking the fall for Carly would allow him a much shorter sentence than what any judge would grant Carly. But the day that Drew entered the courtroom appeared to be a seriously off day for the judge at hand.

Never before had anyone painted Drew with such disdain. A former decorated Navy SEAL and a man who was held captive away from his family for years will now be punished and sentenced for two more of them to Pentonville. This turn of events will leave everyone scrambling for a better alternative where there isn’t one.

GH Spoilers – Hint This Is No Spring Ridge

Spring Ridge is a minimum security prison, and many of Port Charles’ residents have spent time there. It’s a pretty laid-back place, and Carly would’ve been able to visit Drew there, hug him, and see him on a regular basis.

Instead, Drew is going to Pentonville, where he’ll be behind plate glass and restricted as to how often he can entertain a guest. Talk about making a major dent in their relationship.

But as it becomes clear that his ex-wife will be left to her own devices for the next two years, the don may feel a bit more obligated to step in for Drew from time to time.
