General Hospital Spoilers: Dante Is Finally Soul Searching

It was obvious during his conversation with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) a few weeks earlier that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) has been feeling guilt for letting his father off the hook (so to speak) with so many crimes he has committed just because Sonny is his dad.

After listening to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) go off on Sonny on New Year’s Eve and truly express how she feels about his little crime business and all the violent things he lets happen to people, Dante’s guilt is spiraling out of control and he asks Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) if he is being a hypocritical cop if he does nothing to Sonny no matter what.

Dex Is Flattered, But No Dice

When Dante decides to ask Dex Heller to come clean about what really happened, Dex is internally flattered that Dante cares about him, but he is not about to give up the game. He has come too far working for Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and thinks that the work with the military arms dealers will be the nail in Sonny’s coffin.

“I think he is trying to keep the police at arm’s length so that he can have them as a resource when he does need them,” Evan Hofer said in the January 9, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “But right now he doesn’t need them sticking their noses in his plan.”

However, he does notice that there is a chink in Dante’s armor because he sees a very conflicted man in front of him.

“Dex is good at reading people,” Hofer said. “He can tell that Dante is having an internal conflict. And he thinks that maybe at some point, he can use that against him — to his advantage.”

What is confusing is that Dex already has tons of evidence of Sonny’s illegal dealings so he can bring him down at any second, but he doesn’t. Might Dex be playing Michael, too? And will he be able to stay away from Joss? Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see how these stories play out.
