Perhaps Gwen Rizcech (Emily O’Brien) is such a hot mess because she can’t seem to find a man who just wants her. Sure, she does lowdown and manipulative things, but her vulnerability always shines through.

She really did love Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) but he only had eyes for Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey). Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) is weirdly obsessed with Stephanie Johnson, so they didn’t last either.

But now a man meets her and seems instantly smitten. Megan DiMera’s (Miranda Wilson) son, Dimitri Von Leuchner (Peter Porte), takes a shine to Gwen almost immediately, but he has no idea that his mother has something else in mind for his life — especially his love life.

DOOL Spoilers – They’re In The Money

Dimitri is approaching 40 years old and Megan knows that the only way he will get a considerable inheritance is if he marries before his birthday.

Megan wants that money so she also wants her son to marry Kirsten DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), his aunt. Now, they are not related by blood as Kristen was adopted by Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo), but it is kind of odd.

Kristen doesn’t even like the idea because of her never-ending obsession with Brady Black, but she might do it for all that cash. But what about Dimitri?

Well, he wants the money but he is not about to marry Kristen to get it. Just as he decides that Gwen walks right into this life.

“When he sees Gwen, there is something immediately interesting about her,” Peter Porte said in the June 12, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “I think he’s intrigued. I think there’s immediate chemistry. I think that even if he is pushing against it, there are undeniable sparks that he is met with.”
