Chrisley Knows Best stars Julie and Todd sit in prison and their daughter Savannah is fighting a battle on their behalf. This weekend, she slotted into prime TV viewing on Fox News to talk about the appeal process. And, she threw in a lot about justice and appalling conditions. Actually, she described herself as becoming the “poster child” on the subject.

No sooner had her mom and dad started their sentence, than their daughter took up the cudgels and started talking about prison and the justice department. By her own admission she never even thought about it until it happened to her own family. These days, she tries to use her influence to get things changed. Oh, and to grouse about things like no air conditioning.

Chrisley Knows Best fans can agree that the prison sentence for tax and fraud-related offenses seems excessive. Not so much for Julie, who serves not much more than Jen Shah, but for Todd. Naturally, it’s devasting for the family because they serve concurrent sentences. At one stage, it was hoped that they could serve their time under house detention because of the minor kids, Grayson and Chloe. Instead, Savannah raises them now and spends the rest of her time dedicated to getting her parents back home.

The former USA Network star has been beating her drum ceaselessly. So, viewers once again heard how she hates that the government is so slow to get things done. That came when she talked about her parent’s appeal. Next, she cited a report about the appalling condition of federal prisons. Speaking with Lawrence Jones, she said, “There are almost two million people incarcerated today,” and it seems that she wants to be the voice for those folks.

The Chrisley Knows Best alum also said, “Let’s give these people the help that they need to enter back into society.” Lawrence noted that there are “violent offenders on the streets.” So he asked her to talk about that. Notably, her mom and are not violent offenders, so she seems to feel that the costs of jailing so many people like Todd and Julie don’t make sense. Can you see where this might be going? Perhaps she wants her mom and dad released with other non-violent offenders. Mind You, that could take years if ever to change legislation.

However, a lot of other folks think that Todd and Julie need to just accept their fate. @RevMikeBlack
noted, “Her parents are in prison because they are criminals. Prisons are not five star hotels. They are bad places filled with bad people. If you don’t want to live in a prison yourself, then don’t break the law. It’s pretty simple, actually.”
