Brian Cox Believes Meghan Markle Had “Ambitions” Before Marrying Into The Royal Family

Seems like the wool has finally been pulled out of Brian Cox‘s eyes. The “Succession” star used to be on team Harry and Meghan. Now? He’s team no one. Not even the Royal Family.

Ever since the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle married into the Royal Family in 2018, it’s been from one drama to another.

Just two years after being part of royalty, she and her husband Prince Harry stepped back from official duties but refused to renounce their Royal titles.

In the past, Cox was a vocal supporter of Harry and Meghan irrespective of all the attacks from the Sussexes to the entire Royal Family, especially their docuseries, and Harry’s Tell-All Memoir “Spare.”

Cox’s conviction in Harry and Meghan’s innocence was such that he strongly believed that the couple told the truth about Meghan’s ill-treatment from the Royals.

In an interview with “Good Morning Britain” last year, Cox said, “I don’t know what went on (with Harry and Meghan), but something clearly traumatic went on for the pair of them.”

Brian Cox Said Meghan “Knew What She Was Getting Into”

The “Succession” actor is no longer falling for that “I’m innocent” story. He claims that there’s no way Meghan walked into marriage with Harry fully oblivious of what she would experience.

In a recent interview with “Haute Living New York,” Cox explained that Meghan is fully aware of what she married into. “You can’t go into a system where somebody’s already been trained to behave in a certain kind of way and then just expect them to cut themselves off.”

He went on to add, “I mean, she knew what she was getting into.” Cox also thinks Meghan had ulterior motives for marrying Harry. He claims that Meghan had “ambitions.”

According to Cox who claims to be a “Cinderella person,” everyone once fantasized about marrying a prince charming but in Meghan’s case, it wasn’t just a dream or fantasy.

“The childhood dreams of marrying Prince Charming and all that s*** we see as fantasy that could be our lives in our dreams,” said the Scottish actor.

Due to the series of Drama surrounding the Royal Family (which worsened after Meghan joined the family), Cox became anti-monarchy and has maintained that the monarchy should be abolished.

Cox said, “In my opinion, we shouldn’t have a monarchy, It’s not viable; it doesn’t make any sense. F–k it, move on.”
