Most people know the famous cliché, “why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free.” 90 Day Fiancé star Jen Boecher coined this phrase when saying she wants to abstain from sex with Rishi before marriage. From the teaser clip, it is clear that Rishi was shocked. As a model, he obviously knows how good-looking he is, and probably can’t understand a woman declining his intimate advances.

The news came up while Jen, 46, and Rishi, 32, were discussing her new apartment in India. She explained to him:

I would love to have you here, but at the same time, I was actually thinking maybe I’m not quite ready for you to spend the night yet.

I kind of want to take things a little more slowly.

Fans of the TLC reality show know that the situation is unusual between its cast members. However, after being apart for a couple of years, Jen would prefer for them to take it slowly while they “get familiar again.”

Why Does Jen Want To Abstain Until Marriage?

In a confessional, Jen explained her decision to avoid sleeping with Rishi, despite the fact that she has already been intimate with him in the past. Speaking to the cameras, she added:

Some of the doubts that my friends and family have expressed have started creeping in.

I need some time to make sure we’re on the same page before I jump back into bed with him.

Meanwhile, when Jen asked Rishi is he was willing to wait until marriage before sleeping together again, he admitted he was confused. “So, when we met two years before, we were intimate at that time,” adding, “So, what’s different?”

Jen told him that nothing is different; she doesn’t want to have to worry about him getting too comfortable spending the night there. She said she didn’t want them “hooking up” and him thinking, “Well, why do we need to get married?”

At this point, the Oklahoma native asked him, “Why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free?”

How Does Rishi Feel About This?

Rishi kept relatively quiet during their conversation, but he did open up in a confessional, saying:

I was expecting she [would] want me in the same way. But, okay. Not to worry about it.

90 Day Fiancé star Jen first met Rishi during a solo visit to India, where he was modeling at her hotel. Meanwhile, she initially thought he was a “douchebag,” but after spending time together, she fell for the handsome Indian native.

In a confessional back in January 2023, Jen said, “I didn’t really know what I wanted in a relationship until I met Rishi,” adding: “His whole persona and energy is just very different from anyone I’ve ever dated.”

Meanwhile, 45 days later, Rishi proposed “out of the blue” and Jen returned home engaged. After this, the COVID-19 pandemic kept the couple apart for two years until Jen was finally able to move to India.
