Nick Ham clearly didn’t get the memo that read: Don’t bash people for their weight. Because 90 Day Fiance spoilers via Soap Dirt reveal Nick throwing shade at what he views as “fat” people in the U.S.

And fans also felt shocked at Nick’s comments regarding Devin Hoofman‘s size. However, Nick heads to Searcy, Arkansas, with Devin. And the two face a deadline of three months to tie the knot. 

If the couple doesn’t meet that deadline, their fiance visa is at risk of expiring. And that would mean moving back to South Korea. But Nick confesses his anxiety about settling in the United States for several reasons.

First, the 90 Day Fiance star feels unfamiliar with Devin’s hometown. But Nick does feel aware of a lack of diversity. And second, the town lacks a Korean community. But Nick criticizing everything from U.S. food to the weight of the average American citizen doesn’t exactly make a good impression.

90 Day Fiancé Spoilers – Nick Ham Slams ‘Fat’ People

However, Devin warned Nick that racism exists in her hometown. And that understandably worries the 90 Day Fiance star. Because of the pandemic, Nick fears that he could face even more distrust and hate.

But Devin’s family do their best to cook up a fabulous feast to welcome the 90 Day Fiance star to the United States. And they even fry up fish and French fries. However, then a family pal questions Nick about South Korea citizens’ impressions of people in the United States. 

And Nick criticizes Americans for eating “greasy food and being fat.” But he tries to walk back those rude remarks by adding that he doesn’t view everyone in the United States as fat because of their greasy food diets.

However, it’s too little too late as far as Devin is concerned. And she thinks that Nick does look down on people in her hometown as overweight because of greasy food diets. And so Devin tries to justify the situation.

But although she feels that it’s less expensive to buy unhealthy food than healthy items in the United States, her dad Kevin disagrees. And Kevin feels that too many individuals head to a drive-through for fast food instead of taking time to cook. Kevin calls those folks “just lazy.”

And so Devin questions Nick to check out his views on fast food. He informs her that she seems lazy because she eats so much fast food. And then the 90 Day Fiance star starts fat-shaming.

“No wonder you are a piggy,” sneers Nick. And he reaches out to feel her tummy, mocking, “Look at this.” But the 90 Day Fiance star defends his fat-shaming by claiming, “I’m just saying the truth.”

However, fans slammed Nick and defended Devin. For instance, one critic felt that Nick fails to “respect the cultural norms of the person he’s chosen to marry.” And another shared that Nick calling Devin piggy when she told him she hates that nickname comes off as problematic.
