Sally pursued Adam for months. He resisted but eventually relented to her unique charms and lack of another alternative.
So, even ardent Sally fans can not put full blame on Adam for all that has happened between them. However, Adam’s cold drop of Sally in the recent past was a soapy bridge too far.
Now, with Sally’s decision about splitting being reinforced with each passing interaction, Adam does not know how to react because he is not controlling the narrative. Blaming Nick is a defense mechanism. It is part of their enduring sibling rivalry storyline.
Y&R Spoilers – Nick Newman’s Feelings Are Steady
Nick has gone through his share of romantic relationship issues with various ladies in Genoa City, Wisconsin. Sally offers a fresh take and an unexpected chance at love.
Sally does not see Nick as an Adam alternative, as Grossman’s character strongly assumes. Instead, Morrow’s character developed respect for her accomplishments and fell in love.
Nick projects as an enduring match for Sally because of his maturity. His stable outlook and steady support are valued by Hope’s character.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Wrong On Both Accounts
Separately, Adam assumed that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) was trying to pull a stunt when he happened upon him and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) on the roof of the Grand Phoenix Hotel. Without Billy’s presence, Chelsea might be off the earth.
Adam was incapable of recognizing Chelsea’s sad state of mind, despite being aware of her recent mental health reversion. Adam immediately assumed that Billy did something to upset Chelsea, when he likely saved her life.
Misreading Sally and Chelsea, with Nick and Billy respectively offering respect to each lady, further secured Adam’s well-earned, bad reputation. After a short period of seeming progress, Adam has reverted to jerk status.
