Y&R Spoilers: Diane’s Exposed, Phyllis Gloats

The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease that when Talia Morgan’s (Natalie Morales) article is published exposing Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) past, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will gloat. However, she who gloats first may not have the last laugh.

Obviously, Diane thought she had it handled when she talked with Talia, who she recognized from the local news entities back in LA. She claimed to want information about Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) and Diane was happy to oblige; but now she sees she made it an exposé about her and her “sordid past”. Unfortunately for Diane, everything Talia wrote in her exposé is true, so it’s not like she can sue her for libel.

All the ugliest and most unflattering history that could be found on Diane is in the article, but even though she’s ashamed and humiliated, none of it is secret. Everything written was mostly in the public record already, it’s just that she wanted to leave her past behind.

Y & R Spoilers – Diane Jenkins Worries About Her Job

Diane worries about her new job at Marchetti and wonders if the article will have a negative effect on her there; working in marketing, a good public image is important. There are so many people who work with her who don’t know her past or anything about her, and this article could ruin her chances for a new start. Diane is very worried that she will become the subject of office gossip instead of a respected coworker and that she could even get fired.

As she goes through the building looking down in shame, she runs smack into Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) at Jabot, and tells him what happened. Jack tells her not to play victim, and to remember that this could happen and she much appreciates his encouragement.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Sneak Attack

Diane later runs into Phyllis, who cannot help but gloat over the unflattering exposé, gleefully asking if she’s read any good articles lately. That tells Diane everything that she needs to know, that it is indeed Phyllis, her old enemy who staged this sneak attack and is the one trying to sabotage her.  But it would do Diane no good to retaliate, the damage if any has already been done, and besides, this won’t harm her relationship with Jack, her son or her grandson.

Diane just decides to grin and bear it and try to keep a lid on anything ugly that might transpire because of the exposé. But then, she receives an anonymous text that looks like it could be from Talia, saying future articles are killed and she owes her.
