Meghan Markle’s Lawyers Promise Battle With UK Tabloid Will Move Forward

Apparently the word is not in Meghan Markle’s vocabulary. Despite her lawsuit becoming the subject of ridicule on Friday after a judge literally threw out pieces of it, her lawyers now vow to move forward with what at least one legal watcher called an ill-advised case.

To give you a sense of how utterly ridiculous some members of the legal community view Meghan and her lawsuit, the words, “disaster,” “humiliation,” “irrelevant,” and, “inadequate,” were all used to describe the sideshow she is a part of.

Nonetheless, Meghan and her team are determined to see the suit through to the end, no matter the cost. And the cost could be very steep as in addition to her own legal bills, the defendant, Mail on Sunday, has requested she pay a sum to cover their legal costs.

Meghan Markle’s Legal Case Has Been Significantly Cut Down By The Presiding Judge

According to Meghan’s crack legal team, “The Duchess’ rights were violated; the legal boundaries around privacy were crossed.”

Meghan claims that Associated Newspapers acted “dishonestly” by printing bits of a letter she wrote to her father Thomas Markle, a claim tossed out by the judge.

The judge also rejected her claim that the Daily Mail publisher harmed the relationship between Meghan and her father; their estrangement was widely publicized prior to the publication of her letter.

Meghan Markle’s Legal Team Are Not Yet Ready To Concede defeat

In typical legalese, Meghan’s lawyers responded to their semi-defeat by proclaiming that Friday’s, “ruling makes very clear that the core elements of this case do not change.”

They added that, “the Mail on Sunday used distortive, manipulative, and dishonest tactics to target the Duchess of Sussex … Whilst the judge recognizes that there is a claim for breach of privacy and copyright, we are surprised to see that his ruling suggests that dishonest behavior is not relevant.”

“This gross violation of any person’s right to privacy is obvious and unlawful, and The Mail on Sunday should be held to account for their actions.” We shall about that.

The lawsuit against Associated Newspapers cites invasion of privacy and copyright infringement for their publication of parts of a letter Meghan wrote to her dad in August 2018, following her marriage to Prince Harry.
