The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) is at death’s door. She is in a coma and her family fears she is not waking up. However, being Nikki Newman, she is vital to the show. She is not going to die, but her storyline may drag for a few weeks. The actress is currently enjoying an extended vacation.

Nikki Newman has been on the show for decades. Her history with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is deep and they belong together. Now, that’s not to say they don’t have issues between them. However, deep down, there is so much love between the couple.

When it came out that Nikki may die, many feared that Scott decided not to renew her contract. The Y&R fans can relax because that is not the case. Melody will be back. The actress decided to take an early Holiday vacation so they had to essentially get creative with her storyline. That is how the hit-and-run storyline came to be.

What’s Ahead On Young And The Restless?

Nikki will recover soon. After waking up, the Newman family will be much different. They will be united and bonded. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will decide not to fight his dad anymore. Nikki will be more accepting of Sharon (Sharon Case) and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). The tragedy will show the Newmans what is important in life.

Then there is the little detail on JT Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) murder. Who will pay for it? Perhaps no one will as JT is alive somewhere. Time will tell how they plan to wrap up the JT storyline.
