Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) naturally wants to see his wife and son on the Young and the Restless. Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) aid in this process teases that Chelsea Newman’s (Melissa Claire Egan) return will soon be seen.

Y&R fans are aware that Egan has been recording scenes. So, it’s not a question as to whether Chelsea will return, but when that happens. Soon rather than later is a solid read on that character’s revival.

Chadam followed Shadam as Adam’s greatest love. That’s why it made full backstory sense for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to ask Sharon help him unlock Adam’s mind.

That process took days in real and soapy time. Apparently Y&R felt the fans had been waiting nearly three years for the recast, so why not move forward to where everyone knew the story would be eventually.

Sharon and Adam hadn’t been together since this just-returned character looked like Michael Muhney (Adam). As Sharon explained to her just-realized significant other, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), she and Adam had a deep, complicated relationship. He was said to have saved her life on more than one occasion and that was no exaggeration of the past.

Among the most, if not the most significant saves, involved Adam finding Sharon at the original Newman main house, which she’d set on fire and burned to the ground. He carried her to safety and then ensured that she received mental health treatment. That allowed Sharon to begin dealing with her bipolar disorder.

Chelsea’s entrance into Adam’s life softened him, over time. Y&R fans know that Justin Hartley’s (Adam) follow of Muhney’s portrayal was different. It was written so it would be played that way. Both actors did marvelous jobs, in this subjective opinion.

As for Grossman’s edition, the anticipation of what his Adam will do must include a meaningful view of a reunion with Chelsea and his first-born son, Connor Newman (as most recently played by Gunner and Ryder Gadbois). Sharon is the logical bridge to Chelsea, just as she was before.

Whether Adam, Chelsea, and Connor will quickly add Christian Newman (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) into the mix is debatable. Sharon’s boyfriend Rey will soon be watching Adam’s every move, per Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) request. And with that, all intertwined characters will be ready for certain mega drama.
