Young and the Restless Poll: Who Will Cause More Trouble In the Future – Phyllis, or Summer?

Young and the Restless Poll: Who Will Cause More Trouble In the Future – Phyllis, or Summer?A diplomatic answer isn’t requested for this ‘The Young and the Restless’ poll question. Instead, readers who feel strongly are asked to predict who will cause more trouble in the future, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), or Summer (Hunter King)?

Consider Phyllis’ recent cross of the coverup crew, her romantic involvement with Nick (Joshua Morrow), and the business she somehow heads at Jabot. As for Summer, focus on the fracture of ‘Kola’s’ relationship and Newman Enterprises, where Victor (Eric Braeden) allows her to hold an influential decision.

It would be far too simple to instantly pick Phyllis, as her character dates back to the 1990’s. Summer was actually born in the mid part of the last decade, with King debuting as this character in 2012. In soap time, Phyllis and Nick’s daughter is actually in her twenties. So backstory isn’t the issue at hand.

Phyllis’ deep history as a villainous person could be applied to each of the three projected areas of her life, being the J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) mess, ‘Phick’, and the Abbott’s having to answer to her at their family’s company.

Summer used to be a very sweet person. Her ‘snowflake’ nickname, as tagged by Mariah (Camryn Grimes), was apt through the point when King was granted an extended absence from the show, but remained part of the official cast. Summer’s return in 2018 served to transform this character into a mini-me version of Phyllis in her prime.

Interestingly, as hardcore Y&R fans know, Tognoni’s edition of Phyllis was written far softer than Michelle Stafford’s version was. Then, last April, Phyllis appointed herself as the coverup crew’s fixer, she cavorted with Nick months later, and has continued to devolve back to her old self.

All of the aforementioned details could serve to sway readers to easily elect Phyllis as the top trouble-maker. Considering that Summer was also called a “mini-me” version of her mother, how could a justified vote for King’s character be made?

Well, the question asks about the future, rather than the past, or present. So Summer could be seen as having more momentum and energy to disrupt a greater number of lives in Genoa City. Though the anti-Phyllis crowd surely feels differently and will click aside of her name.

Fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ rightfully express their opinions on a regular basis. So, who will cause more trouble in the future, Phyllis, or Summer? Please vote in our poll above!
