Whether Nicole returns to Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) or if she and Brady rekindle their romance, is really not the point for the divorce; she just doesn’t need to be tied legally to Xander for any reason! Xander will make certain demands on Brady in order to get what he wants and Brady will have to comply or bargain with Xander for something else he wants for Xander to grant the divorce!
Although Xander may have something else in mind this time, one thing he has always wanted and has not been able to achieve is acceptance into the Kiriakis family and a place in the family business, Titan Industries. While Brady cannot force Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) or the rest of the family to accept Xander as a full family member and not just a black sheep interloper, Brady is CEO and has hiring powers.
He could offer Xander a legitimate job and possibly make it contingent on Xander’s going completely straight, which may be what it will take to keep Victor from going over Brady’s head and either vetoing the hiring of Xander or firing him after he is hired!
Brady will be aiming straight for the heart if a legitimate position in the family business is what he bargains for with Xander. Longtime Days of Our Lives viewers know that Xander came to Salem as a diamond smuggler who ran a pharmaceutical company as a cover, but he’d also been laundering money overseas for Victor. Victor originally took him under his wing but with the stipulation that Xander needed to stay on the straight and narrow to be a part of Titan, and he wasn’t at the time.
After that time, neither Victor nor Brady ever showed any acceptance or family connection to Xander, and if Brady approaches him acting more like the family they are, that might turn the deal in Brady and Nicole’s favor.
