Coronation Street spoilers indicate that a shocking surprise might be in store for Norris Cole (Malcolm Hedben) in the coming weeks.
He will be back in Weatherfield just in time to oversee the sale of Number Three, while also paving the way for the new Bailey family member to make their much-anticipated arrival very soon. Here’s what you need to know.
Before making his return to the Cobbles, Norris will be sending Emily Bishop’s (Eileen Derbyshire) niece Freda Burgess (Ali Briggs) to Weatherfield. The news will come as a bit of a shock for Mary Taylor (Patti Claire), who has been keeping an eye on the property ever since Norris and Emily both left town.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Surprise In Store For Mary Taylor
Now new Coronation Street spoilers tease that Mary and her friend Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) will discover the door to her home had been left open by a stranger. As they make their way inside the property, they will end up seeing Freda. She will tell them that Norris had asked her to begin work on selling the property.
Not only will Mary be left reeling over the fact that someone tried to break into her home, but that Norris had also not contacted her before trying to sell the house. But here’s the twist: Freda will soon be seen with an urn, and will put a photo of Norris right next to it. This will leave Mary thinking that Norris might be dead.
Of course, Freda will have some explaining to do. And while Mary will soon find out that Norris is well and alive, this will leave her wondering whose ashes Freda has been harboring this entire time.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Producer Teases His Return
Meanwhile, Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod had this to say about Norris’ return: “We just thought given the circumstances that we find ourselves in, it made sense to put a new family in Number Three. It’s certainly not the end of Norris.”

The executive producer also revealed more about Emily’s future on the show. “I’m in talks fairly regularly with Eileen [Derbyshire], but at the moment, there’s no plans for her to return. Again, the door’s certainly not closed there,” MacLeod explained, ruling out the Weatherfield icon as the character whose ashes Freda has got her hands on.
