The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Victor Justified – Nick’s Custody Battle Wrong

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Victor Justified – Nick's Custody Battle WrongVictor (Eric Braeden) can be defined in many ways on ‘The Young and the Restless’, including ruthless. However, when all points are considered, it’s reasonable to believe that he should be able to see Adam’s (Justin Hartley) son and Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) nephew.

Yes, Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) isn’t Nick’s biological child. He didn’t initially know that Sage (Kelly Sullivan) had that boy with Adam, but later learned the truth. Considering that both of Christian’s parents are deceased (well, Sage is for sure), it made sense that Nick has continued to parent the child as though he were his own.

Nick only recently learned the truth about Christian. Victor suspected and apparently confirmed that DNA reality a few years ago.

All was seemingly rolling along smoothly between Nick and his dad until a return-to-Newman offer was made and accepted. Then Nick read far too much into Victor’s actions.

It is very fair to state that Victor has often earned his son’s distrust. But in the most recent business incident, why did Nick think the Chief Operating Officer’s slot offer was an affront?

Vickie (Amelia Heinle) got mad that Nick was taking the job she recently lost. So what? That’s happened ten times before and will happen again. Plus, she was working with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), or whatever that legacy character’s name is. Nudge to Y&R’s writing staff to hopefully be creating a good climax with that storyline.

Victor, arguably, had every right to demote Vickie and then to offer Nick the COO’s job. Nick came across as totally ungrateful for the opportunity to fill a prime slot with one of the world’s most amazing corporations. That led to his insistence that Victor has not seen Christian, either.

Nick’s foolhardy triple-decisions pushed Victor to pursue legal action which seeks full custody of Christian. The third decision involved taking a job in San Diego, and moving to California with Sharon, Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind), and the little guy in question. All of the aforementioned items results in Nick’s custody battle making no sense.
