The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Nick Trusts His Gut – Genoa City Residents Give Their Opinion

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Nick Trusts His Gut – Genoa City Residents Give Their OpinionNick (Joshua Morrow) sees Sharon (Sharon Case) as a friend on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That’s what she’s become at this point in his life. But various residents of Genoa City believe he’s blind to their take on the truth.

Mariah Questions Nick

Y&R fans noticed that Mariah (Camryn Grimes) was the only person to question whether it was best for her, Sharon, if Nick moved in, rather than the reverse. That’s because Mariah is one of the only adults in this Wisconsin town who cares about her. The other is Nick.

Loves One’s Worry For Nick

It’s understandable that Nick’s loved ones and friends would choose to believe that he’s rebounded into a bad decision. His more recent history with Sharon includes the Sully (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) situation (to label that matter mildly) and nearly remarrying her in 2014. At that time a recast Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) literally stopped what would have been ‘Shick’ Part II.

Nikki Protects Her Baby

Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) believed she was protecting her baby. That’s why she went to the cottage and agreed to tea with Sharon. Both ladies had their say before Nick arrived to follow-up on the life news he dropped on his mother earlier that day via a phone call.

Nick Accepts Sharon’s Offer

Nick believes that he did right by Christian (the McGuigen twins) and Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) in accepting Sharon’s offer. He’s right, as long as the stability he’s seeking is evidenced by both halves of the former ‘Shick’. And that deep point is the reason why Mariah, Phyllis, Nikki and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) have been and remain worried.

Nick Loses Himself

Nick is reeling. But let’s be honest, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) was not the first love, had not been a longterm significant other and wasn’t his wife or the mother of any of this children. Yes, he cared about her. But Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) tragic death was infinitely more painful than Chelsea’s unexpected departure has been or will prove to be.

Sharon Succeeds

Sharon is stable and has been for awhile. Like Nick said, she achieved her success in that area. Along with that major plus, she’s been nicely co-parenting with him. Might this pairing develop into a romantic couple? Sure, it’s possible. But what Nick and Sharon need more than anyone’s speculation is respect.

It’s not 1994 when they first met each other. It’s not 2005 when Cassie (Camryn Grimes) died and they subsequently split up. It’s not 2014, either. Let’s see what 2018 brings because that’s what Sharon and Nick want.
