The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Neil and Lane Support Hevon – Mishael Morgan’s Time Grows Short

The baby matters to Neil (Kristoff St. John) and ‘Lane’ on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Yes, the Winters and Ashby clans have full rights to be suspicious of Hilary (Mishael Morgan). But she’s pregnant with Devon’s (Bryton James) child and that’s infinitely more important that past squabbles, or current perceptions.

Devon has seen Hilary’s personal growth and that perception hasn’t been driven by his love for her. Instead, his recognition of her maturity is what spurned the current ‘Hevon’ reunion.

Neil, Lily (Christel Khalil), and Cane (Daniel Goddard) have long been at odds with Hilary. She made herself the ever-outsider through a series of actions that dates back five years.

Descending upon Genoa City, Hilary first attacked Neil. She believed he’d left her mother for dead, which proved to be false.

Hilary attempted to set Cane up for blackmail. But Goddard’s character thwarted her intention.

Neil forgave Hilary and they later fell in love. Of course, ‘Nilary’ eventually transferred to ‘Hevon’.

Lily naturally was suspicious of a woman who betrayed her father, then took up with her brother, and also attacked Cane. But Hilary wasn’t done, as a few years later she coerced Juliet (Laur Allen) into framing Cane in a harassment charge.

Motherhood can change people, just as fatherhood can as well. Now, Devon remains the same good guy he’s always been, save for his taking Neil’s one-time wife.

At this point in their lives Hilary and Devon aren’t hurting themselves. ‘Hevon’ the Sequel is presenting a loving version of this couple without drama. That’s been a refreshing part of this couple’s revived storyline.

As savvy readers of this great site know, Morgan has announced her departure from the cast. While Hilary will still be seen this summer, Morgan’s remaining episodes will grow short rather quickly.

It’s a shame that Morgan is leaving, as she’s a terrific actor. But she’s wished well by all who appreciate the great soap that was created during her Y&R tenure (2013-2018).
