The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily Joins Hamilton Winters Group – Hilary Battle Reestablished

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily Joins Hamilton Winters Group – Hilary Battle ReestablishedLily’s (Christel Khalil) idea comes with risk on ‘The Young and the Restless’. While working for her brother and dad should prove fruitful career wise, Lily’s move to establish a modeling division within the Hamilton Winters Group also means that Hilary (Mishael Morgan) will be a regular part of her work and personal picture again.

These women have never liked each other. From Lily’s perspective, Hilary has always been trying to harm her family. Hilary sees Lily as privileged.

Privilege is a fully subjective term. Some observers might choose to see that Lily appears comfortable financially and has family ties that back her. But she also tragically lost her mother (Drucilla, as portrayed by the great Victoria Rowell), battled cancer, fought hard for her marriage on more than one occasion and has also earned various other life scars. And, as important as any other issue, she’s a mother to twins and recently agreed to serve as Sam’s mother figure.

Hilary’s issues with Lily could arguably be pared down to a word, jealousy. Ann Turner, Miss Curtis’ actual name, didn’t have a father like Neil (Kristoff St. John) and her mother lived a challenged life until passing away due to the effects of alcoholism.

Looking at both ladies in an attempted objective manner, Lily is a good person who’s made some mistakes. But she loves her family and demonstrates that through her actions.

Lily was also fully within her protective rights to be leery of Hilary after she tried to frame Cane (Daniel Goddard) shortly after arriving in Genoa City. And who wouldn’t remain ever-suspicious of someone who married her father and then cheated on him with her brother, who she later married?

Hilary may always be viewed as the outsider. But that’s not because she initially moved to GC earlier this decade. Her reputation has been built through personal choices and more recently, public shaming via the ‘Hilary Hour’. Oh, there was the major issue of helping Juliet (Laur Allen) ruin Cane’s reputation and conceive his child as well.

Despite the above, Hilary truly appears to be interested in maturing in 2018. Her role as a mentor and decision to turn GC Buzz toward positive news (as prompted by Devon, Bryton James) are good points, but they are also recent endeavors. So Lily didn’t dig the hole that Hilary still stands in.

All of the above-referenced backstory means that a renewed battle is highly likely to begin and continue indefinitely within HWG’s confines. But opportunities for earned redemption will also be available, as eternal optimists believe.
