The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Hilary’s Death Creates Changes in Genoa City

Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) shocking, sudden demise is creating changes on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Many lives were linked to this great character. Numerous Genoa City residents will be affected now that Morgan’s well-crafted exit story has played out.

Devon (Bryton James) lost what would have been his first child and the woman he loved most in this world. Hilary told him that he needed to move on from her after she was gone. That will take time. Plus, he’ll need to find his way back to having a relationship with his sister.

Lily (Christel Khalil) feels responsible for the injuries that led to Hilary’s death. That’s understandable and legally, right. Lily was driving while willingly participated in an argument with Hilary when a truck broadsided the vehicle. That preventable accident directly led to the coming funeral.

Shauna (Camryn Hamm) was taken under Hilary’s wing. Morgan’s character served as a mentor to this lost soul, whose parents are apparently dealing with issues related to her brother. Thankfully Hilary was there for Shauna, but now that she no longer is this young lady’s immediate future is in doubt.

Mariah (Camryn Grimes) served as a co-host on the ‘Hilary Hour’. She was asked by the star to carry on, which means that Mariah will now fly solo, unless she adds a sidekick. Maybe Tessa (Cait Fairbanks)?

Circling back to Devon, one of Hilary’s final statements involved a wink at Y&R’s fans. She mentioned having ‘Hevon’ babies, which now can never be.

The cool direct message to the fans served as an acknowledgment of just how special daytime actor-viewer relationships are. Serialized drama attempts to create daily commitments that extended for years. Morgan delivered in every episode she ever appeared in that regard.

Many supporters of this show walked with Morgan from her debut in 2013 through the emotional write-out that was just presented. Soap opera bonds are different than all other entertainment ties that Hollywood and other outlets engender. To all at Y&R, to Morgan, and to all fans, this dramatic storyline surely was one to remember.
